Used to. They changed it to 2 a.m. back in the 90s. Eventually, there was so much mayhem that the bar scene in Hull pretty much shut down.

Sorry, I can't offer any tips. I'll leave that to somebody younger.

Head to the Byward Market and look for something that catches your eye. It's going to be the only remotely "hopping" part of the downtown area at that date and time.

Perhaps some of the bigger bars on Elgin like Maclaren's or the new John A Pub or even that pit Hooley's will be 'hopping,' but who really knows.
