backbacon
The one I have has been pretty handy, Chewie. it's a disc man that can play mp3's, so you can burn a cd with mp3's (10+ hours worth) and just play it like a normal cd. Probably pretty cheap these days too. No idea what else is out there.
Chewie
cool k, would this be a better route (the cd-mp3 option) than just a mp3 player?
CyberHippie
I have an mp3 discman as well. The RioVolt. I love it! I like being able to have one disc that holds 10 hours of music. Plus being able to use regular cd's as well is a nice bonus. Sure, it's bigger than most mp3 players, but it's more flexible. I highly recomend the RioVolt! I have no complaints with it at all. AD
i got an apple iPod. 40 Gigabytes, smaller than a cell phone, easy to operate, no moving parts.. a dream come true for portability. plus it will play apples AAC format (smaller file than mp3 but better quality.) I have 600 albums on my iPod and it's about half full. expensive, but it's totally worth it. they come in 10 gb, 15 gb, 20 gb, 30 gb and 40 gb sizes. sooooo wicked. ad

AD
i got the 40gb iPod at compusmart for 729. it's sold everywhere (futureshop, bestbuy, smaller stores etc...) yes, it's pc compatible, you'll have to get a firewire card if you don't have one already. it works with USB2 but not very efficiently. ad
