Rob Not Bob
I recently got a Hunters & Collectors boxed set that includes as a bonus 2 DVDs, but as it was printed in Australia they are in PAL format. I can play them on my computer, but would love to have a copy I could watch on my TV. I have seen a couple of places in Ottawa advertising converting DVDs from PAL format to NTSC, can anyone reccommend a place that is reliable and not too expensive? ollie
You might be able to find software for that and do it yourself. Anyone know?
Esau.
There are many programs that will convert PAL to NTSC, but have you tried it in your current DVD player (or know for sure it won't play PAL?)? A lot of newer (last decade) DVD players will play either format. Both mine play NTSC & PAL and the one is a 12 year old zenith (aka: cheap piece of shit). bouche
I'm pretty sure that you could use dvdshrink to rip and then reauthor the disc and reassign the region code to 1 (North america) or remove it completely. But can you convert it to NTSC? Not sure. You'll have to investigate.http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Tools/CD-DVD-Rip-Other-Tools/DVD-Shrink.shtml
Esau.
For conversion you could try DGPulldown. It's under the GNU public license, so it's free.http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DGPulldown
