check out the sun in the next hour!

the sun is too bright to look at right now! for me anyway. maybe closer to sunset! i hope to see it.

i pulled out my telescope hoping to figure out how to set the shit up with the right lens and the sun filter, find the sun, and then get it in focus. success! I pulled my neighbours over so they could take a peek. It was very cool.

This is what it looked like...only green (when the camera goes back to the sun of course!)

Ah frig. I knew I'd forget about this...read about it on Sunday and told myself I should write this in my calendar, and then I didn't, and I forgot. I was preparing a salad when Venus transited. Ollie was outside getting the BBQ ready. I guess he didn't look up.

Mike, you shoulda had a viewing party at your place.

It was a truly awesome experience that was almost worth the scorching of my corneas.
