Chrome question..

I've never really warmed up to chrome, but after a few issues logging in a private tracker (related to FF) I decided to set chrome up. I figure someone here might be able to help.

I want to hide the link/url deal in the bottom left of my screen. It's distracting. I know it's considered a "security" feature by google and as such cannot be disabled within chrome, but I'm thinking there must be an extension out there to hide it (like with FF) But, for the life of me I can't locate any. Anyone know of one?

Just the one that says "Wating for jambands.ca" or whatever, but of course that disappears when the page loads.

That's what I'm looking to hide. When you scroll over a link, picture, emoticon or anything really, it appears showing the url. Some of the urls cover the entire page width.

Yeah, I knew that it couldn't be turned off that's why I was looking for an extension to hide it. Just as I did with FF.

I'm not worried about inspecting the links previous to clicking, I have more then enough protection (MBAM Pro/ESET NOD32/Commodo firewall) for anything I might come in contact with on the sites I frequent. Plus, it's not really hard to inspect that shit on my own if I have any suspicions or concerns.

Oh well, I'm thinking that google has made sure it can't be hid, hence the lack of extensions to hide it. I'll just use chrome for that one site I guess.

strange that it can't be turned of as a pref. it should be up to the user to decide if they want protection or not. that makes it feel like you're on a managed desktop where IT controls your settings.

Yeah, I like having control over the way I set things up.

I made the suggestion to have the link info appear in the address bar when you hover over a link, and then disappear when you leave it, or at least an option to configure that. At the very least allow some customization, like a setting to NOT show the urls of every button or emoticon on a website.
