I went through the eligible players list and had entirely way too much fun deciding whether or not they used drugs. Once you take the obvious ones out, there's still a few half decent guys left.

Yeah that's precisely the problem, trying to determine who was clean and who wasn't. Do you simply forgo the entire era as dirty and make assumptions they all were? Or do the voters look to Mark McGuire's and Palmeiro's of the world?

You wouldn't believe how much I loved watching Barry Bonds and defended his at bat abilities, to the point I used to say he was the most underrated MLB'er prior to his ascension, but I still wouldn't vote him in. Same goes for the other 2 in this story.

As long as Pete Rose ain't eligible for a gambling issue, then the pill-poppin' juicers/cheaters like Bonds, McGuire, Sosa, etc. shouldn't get in IMHO.

Seriously, THIS is not in the HoF?

Rose, a switch hitter, is the all-time Major League leader in hits (4,256), games played (3,562), at-bats (14,053) and outs (10,328).[1] He won three World Series rings, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Gloves, the Rookie of the Year Award, and made 17 All-Star appearances at an unequaled five different positions (2B, LF, RF, 3B & 1B).

But that's where the bs stinks. So, betting on baseball while actively IN baseball is a no-no, but players using performance enhancing drugs to gain unfair advantage over non-cheaters is OK and can be rewarded with entry into the HoF.

It stinks like disco performers being in a ROCK n ROLL HoF :P

Oh, and they are in a position to re-instate Rose's eligibility from what I've read.

Schilling doesn't deserve to go in before Morris. Both are worthy though. The main reason Jack's

not in is that he didn't talk to the media and the scribes do the voting. Morris's numbers are better in many categories, although no Cy Youngs. Heck, the dominant pitchers in the AL in the 80s and 90s are overlooked.
