Hartamophone
I thought $109 was a little steep for two bands and one day, but apparently it's a two-day thing featuring Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Hey Rosetta! and others.Link to Star story
c-towns
Not too expensive at all for an event like this.
NewRider
2 day festival for that price is amazing and I think they chose that venue to keep the cost low.

Hartamophone
Yeah, I definitely don't think that the price is steep for the kind of event that it is. But from New Rider's original post it sounded like $109 for one night of Mumford and Old Crow, which would have been absurd.
Esau.
My friend lives within walking distance of the fair grounds, you can actually hear some of the events going there from his backyard. Guess I'll be there for OCMS & M&S at least.
NewRider
Yeah, I didn't look at the site properly and didn't even know there were other bands playing. Sorry for the messed up info

edger
I'd pay $109 to see Mumfords and Old Crow alone without hesitation. Love me the zeroes too, and nice to have the chance to see some other bands as well. Haven't seen Mangan play since before he broke. This is unbeLIEVABly amazing news!!! I love how these boys make a point of playing to musically deprived markets. And I have a soft place in my heart for Norfolk County. Stoked!!! NewRider
I saw Dan Mangan a few months ago and he was great.
Northern Wish
I did too and thought it was awful. To each his own.It should be a requirement that each band who plays this fest covers at least one Danko / Manuel song.
AD
I do not see a lot of redeeming qualities in Dan Mangan's act. His lyrics and singing are awful. Some of the arrangements are decent but other than that I cannot begin to understand his appeal to such a wide audience.
NewRider
When I saw him a few months ago at the University of Guelph the crowd kind of seemed like a Ben Harper crowd. Screaming teenage girls. I've only listened to "Nice Nice, Very Nice" and I really like a bunch of the tunes off it. The crowd totally sucked though. Teenage girls just screaming and crying. I was also crying because there was no booze served at the show!

boiler
All the shows this festival does in small towns. I'm thinking they're playing there outta respect for The Band. We gotta figure out how to get Diesel Dog on the bill. Edited February 7, 2013 by Guest
