I'm shocked and aghast that nobody on this board has begun a favorites of the year poll yet.

Mine would be:

Seems a majority of CDs I bought this year were older but off the top of my head the one CD from 2002 that gets continual play around our place is Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. A fantastic album.

I'm also digging Norah Jones' "Come Away With Me" but having just got it a couple of weeks ago we'll have to see if it "sticks". Real good though.

Bill Frisell's "The Willies" is typically excellent Frisell. Does he make bad albums? Haven't heard one yet!

Oh, and I *love* "Round Room". Gets better and better with every play. I'm now into every single song on the album, a real rarity for me when it comes to Phish releases.

I also really like The Slip's "Angels Come On Time".

I must pick up the White Stripe's "White Blood Cells". I only have "De Steil" (sp.?) which I love. They're excellent! What fun!!

Funny, one CD from last year I thought would get endless play for me was The New Deal's "Live NYC" double-disc set but I find it a bit wierd: it's really hyperactive and doesn't entirely reflect the range their music can develop on a good night. Not as smooth and trippy as their other "sound+light" releases but still good. I just seem to throw on other live shows instead of this.

Hmmmmmmmmmm..... [Roll Eyes]

Oh yeah - how could I forget MMW's "Uninvisible"? I'll have to put that on later.

Was Dylan's "Love and Theft" from this year or 2001? I thought it was released 9/11. Nonetheless, another great CD.
