  1. I love the fact that every person that buys this album thru the presale on the moe. website get the chance to join moe. on stage to sing. I'd love to be able to say I sang a song with them on stage. For ten bucks I don't think you can go wrong. Plus you get the onstage laminate as well.
  2. that video is off the hissle
  3. I've always liked "The Bridge", an early tribute album to Neil with Sonic Youth doing Computer Age and I think the Flaming Lips cover Goldrush. I remember when the first Borrowed Tunes came out Big Sugar used to play a mean When You Dance.
  4. thank you, thats a fun track!
  5. I don't know about any presales but I can tell you to beware if he sells GA tix on the floor. In the past he's offered the random wristband policy for some lucky fans to be right in front of the stage. In Ottawa last month, fans had to line up between 2-5pm to receive a wristband and not guarentee themselves standing room right in front of the stage. If you are not so lucky I will say that I don't think I've ever seen so many people jammed at the back of the floor for GA before. I bought my tickets for Ottawa the day before the show and ended up 4 rows right beside the stage. I think its all luck of the draw. Good luck!
  6. the poster was awesome. it was a pic of sam the record man with roses in place of the records. great merch for cheap!
  7. It's great to see that you've booked OKKERVIL RIVER. Their CD is pretty kick ass. I can't wait to see this show!
  8. So its finaly offical. The boys are back with David Lee Roth in tow. I don't know how it will sound but I've always wanted to see a Diamond Dave performance. The Toronto date is scheduled for October 7th at the ACC. Only 25 dates have been announced so far. Tickets go on sale this Saturday thru livenation.com
  9. According to ticketmaster, tix range from $41-$121 plus applicable charges.

    John Rambo

Very exciting clip. I remember when Rambo III came out it set the guiness record for the most explosions in a motion picture. John Rambo might look a little older but I don't think he's lost his flare.
  11. That was a great show. Ratdog was Bobby and Wasserman. I remember the all star encore consisted of Bobby coming out to sing Jailhouse Rock with the Crowes. Then a couple do the guys from moe. came out to play the Harder they Come and Easy to Slip. Anyways the complete line-up was The Black Crowes Ratdog Mickey Hart & Planet Drum Bruce Hornsby Jorma Kaukonen w/Michael Falzaarano moe. Sherri Jackson hosted by Arlo Guthrie (I remember that he also sang the City of New Orleans) Great show. I also remember all of the tapers taking down all of the mics after Ratdog and leaving because they didn't seem to care about the Crowes. Attendance was very low, the worst I have ever seen at Molson Amp. They opened up the entire venue to be GA. I hope this helps.

  13. If you want a biography on Springsteen pick up Dave Marsh's Bruce Springsteen: Two Hearts : The Definitive Biography, 1972-2003, (Routledge) 2003. Combines earlier two works about Bruce and adds a new chapter. Dave Marsh also edited the two editions of the Rolling Stone album guide.

  20. I've been to the Jazz Fest. I don't there is a more fun city in the world. The fest starts first thing in the morning and runs until 8pm. You have your evenings free for whatever you want to do and they always have some killer late night shows. I saw the Mule's 10th anniversary show when I was there. Afterwards we checked out Soulive at the House of Blues. Tickets were $40 to see Soulive but there was no way we were going to pay that when admission to the fest was only $20 daily. So we greased the bouncer $20 and he let us in the back door. I remember being surprised when we entered because it seemed like we were back stage. Long and short of my story. Go to the Jazzfest. The food at the fest was awesome. Everything southern. I remember eating alligator sausages. As for Bourbon street, it was just like Mardi Gras. Party Party Party.
  21. I'd go to San Antonio (home of the Alamo) and Austin (the live music capital of the world). I don't think either are that far from Houston. Also eat lots of Barbeque.
  22. The Bridge School downloads from ITunes are great. I wonder if Scott Young was with Batten when he went to Massey Hall to do the reivew. They both were working for the Globe at the time.
  23. I've seen him twice, once was fantastic the other was the show at the Docks behind the Digital Ash album and I thought it was so-so. But I think everyone should give this kid a chance. I'd rather see him now when tickets are affordable then five years down the road you have to visit your neighbourhood pawn shop to afford tickets. Anyways I gonna check this out
