  1. Yes. And this guy got busted and did time in the US for selling bongs over the internets: Which was another garbage case. Very different though. It was a business run in the US and was busted by US officials. In that case, Tommy got nailed due to his "celebrity." It was his son, who was the CEO and ran the business, who technically should have taken the fall. Should the Canadian gov't (or some other country that they shipped bongs to) have been allowed to scoop him up out of the states and take them to their country for sentencing and incarceration?
  2. This was a decent doc on Emery and his plight: http://www.cbc.ca/thelens/program_231007.html While people may like/dislike him as an individual and/or what he stands for, this decision could set a bad precedent.
  3. Maybe the example should have been more like: Say you started an online travel booking company. You advertised and arranged for US citizens to get to Cuba via connecting flights in Canada. You were prosperous, paid your taxes, and were transparent about your dealings. Then, after a number of years, US authorities bully the Canadian authorites into shutting you down, and then you get sent to the US penal system for your "crimes." Then they should be returning every penny of it to Emery
  4. yet he never set foot in the US. The Canadian Gov't gladly accepted his taxes beased on income as a Marijuana Seed Distributor for years. That same Canadian gov't will allow the US gov't to take him away. The Canadian authorities could have easily told the US to fuck off in this case.

  10. lol broner A slang term used to explain the phenomenon during which a fiercly heterosexual male achieves an erection (or, "boner") for or while in the company of one of his male friends (or, "bros"). This may only occur while engaging in all-male activities, particularly those which include feats of strength or displays of hyper-masculinity. Upon achieving a broner, the man in question is often known to exclaim, "dude, suck that shit!" or "meet me in the shower."

  12. Fuck, this would be one sweet show to experience: http://download.wbr.com/ericclapton/newsletters/clapton-092509.html JEFF BECK and ERIC CLAPTON at The 02, London Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton have announced an eagerly anticipated collaboration at the 02 Arena London on February 13, 2010. In what will be one of the must see shows of this decade Beck and Clapton will perform together and apart. The duo have shared the stage at Festivals and benefits previously, but the Japan shows at the Saitama Super Arena marked the first time they had shared the bill at a major arena. Both artists admitted to having a fantastic time on stage together and press gave rave reviews. The concerts were so spectacular for the musicians and fans alike, that the two decided to team up again at London’s prestigious 02 Arena. ‘Eric and I played together in Japan earlier this year and had a blast. Since then we have been in regular contact and talked about doing a similar show for our fans. Looking forward to the show in 2010,†said Jeff Beck. “I’ve always considered Jeff Beck to be one of the finest guitar players around. He’s a friend, a great guy, and a truly gifted musician. We had such a fun time in Japan that it seemed natural to play together again,†said Eric Clapton. Both Beck and Clapton have long and prestigious musical careers with countless honours and awards to their names. Beck has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice and Clapton is the only artist to be inducted three times. Their musical paths are linked together by the Yardbirds – a band that Clapton left in 1965 and his replacement, ironically, was Jeff Beck. Since those days, Beck and Clapton have remained friends, but have only performed together a few times over the years for an occasional song at a charity event. Now, more than 40 years after the Yardbirds disbanded, the two will join together on the same stage. The duo has said that no exact set list has been discussed but they plan to each do their own respective sets followed by a joint set that is expected to be longer than their first shows in Japan. Jeff Beck’s recent release, Live at Ronnie Scotts DVD, has gone platinum in USA, Canada and Japan. Beck is currently recording his first studio album in five years in London with Trevor Horne and Steve Lipson producing. Eric Clapton’s recent release Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD has gone multi-platinum in the US. Clapton also just completed a sold-out North American tour with former Blind Faith band member Steve Winwood. Ticket On-Sale Information Members of Eric Clapton’s official fan club, EC ACCESS, will be able to participate in a 48 hour pre-sale that begins on Saturday, September 26th at 9AM UK time/3AM EST/1AM PST. 13. Another interesting angle. How society is hurtin' and returning soldiers are messed up. How this is creating a perfect storm type situation. Picks up a fair bit in the second half

  18. My latest in a long list of peeves! I hate getting stuck behind one of these wonders of natural selection. Sometimes i think it would be helpful to have a bicycle bell while walking around crackberry addicts and compulsive SMSers. I'm just going to start dropping a shoulder a bit .... treat them like somebody mid-ice with their head down. As long as it's a 'clean' hit too baaaad We need street referees.
  19. No sympathy from me. Much like a coworker here who sprained her ankle because she fell down a few stairs due to her being oblivious to her surroundings while walking and texting ... loser!!
