  1. I know! I'm a sucker for this shit, that's why I've stayed away We'll see what happens. I already feel like I won a little, because i was convinced I had the Pittsburgh game on the ticket ... looked this morning and was happy to find out i didn't
  2. There's video on the TSN page below http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=290646 WASHINGTON -- United States President Barack Obama welcomed the 2009 Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins to the White House on Thursday, and celebrated the hockey team for its performance on and off the ice. The Penguins won the best-of-seven series in June, defeating the defending champion Detroit Red Wings. They then took the cup on a road trip to thank their fans, an act that earned the players the thanks of a grateful president. "They took it on fishing trips and stopped by neighbourhood barbecues. They visited elementary schools and brightened the days of children recovering in the hospital," Obama said during a ceremony that was moved indoors to the East Room because of threatening skies. "I think this Cup has even held a baby or two. So this is a team that understands that being a champion doesn't end when you step off the ice," Obama added. Obama's administration is making an effort to encourage volunteerism and public service nationwide. Before arriving at the White House, the team held a hockey clinic for local children that was part of the administration's United We Serve summer of service. Some of those kids were in the audience to see Obama hoist the large trophy, accept a team jersey and pose for pictures. "That's what the Stanley Cup is all about. Not just having your names engraved alongside the best players in history, but also giving back to others along the way," the president said. "And this spirit of service helps to strengthen our communities, it strengthens our country, and I know the team gets a lot in return for it as well."

  5. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/2009/09/10/2009-09-10_caster_semenya_.html Caster Semenya, forced to take gender test, is a woman ... and a man BY Oren Yaniv DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Thursday, September 10th 2009, 1:50 PM Caster Semenya talks to press during the Team SA Press Conference at the Holiday Inn on August 25, 2009 in Johannesburg, South Africa. (Photo by Lee Warren/Gallo ImagesGetty Images) Tests show that controversial runner Caster Semenya is a woman ...and a man! The 18-year-old South African champ has no womb or ovaries and her testosterone levels are more than three times higher than those of a normal female, according to reports. The tests, ordered by The International Association of Athletics Federations after Semenya's 800-meter victory in the World Championships, determined she's a hermaphrodite - having both male and female organs. Semenya could be stripped of the gold medal she won in Berlin last month and her competitive future is in limbo, according to Australia's Daily Telegraph. The athletics governing body is also expected to advise her to have surgery to fix the potentially deadly condition, the paper reported. The IAAF would not comment on the results that have yet to be released. According to a source with knowledge of the IAAF tests, Semenya has internal testes - the male sexual organs that produce testosterone. Testosterone is a hormone responsible for building muscles and for producing body hair and a deep voice. Confirmation of the test results is sure to stoke the controversy that erupted after the university student's sensational track triumph. She has been embraced in her home country - where she was declared "our girl" - and appeared on a magazine cover after a feminine makeover. "God made me the way I am and I accept myself. I am who I am and I'm proud of myself," she told You Magazine, which ran a photo spread. "I don't want to talk about the tests. I'm not even thinking about them."

    yayyyyyy God

original - 20"x24" In 1673, Jesus Christ supposedly appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. To her, he revealed his sacred heart, and explained to her Gods love and mercy for each individual. When I picture Jesus, I picture the image I have seen time and time again. He has long brown hair, with a slight wave to it. His face is sweet, and he wears a long ivory colored robe, and sandals made of rope. He speaks of love and peace, and has a calm, yet powerful way about him. Then I picture him coming back today, to save those who have claimed him as their savior. What would that Jesus have to be like, to want to save people like us? He would have to be a fan of consumption. He would constantly have jingles and advertisements running through his mind, and would be moving too busily and too quickly to stop and take a breath. When thirsty, this Jesus would want to grab a cold one. The King of Kings and the King of Beers are together at last. NASCAR Jesus.

  13. pfftt.. deal was too good to be true. Those pics were ones i found online HOPING the set I was getting. Turns out she got the "super value Beatle pack". Just the ROckband2 "strat" guitar and drums with the Beatles game in the box. I played the game on my Wii with my Guitar Hero World Tour instruments and all is good. Gonna take back the box. Maybe just pick up an extra guitar somewhere to allow for more players. Any experience having GHWT instruments playing at the same time as a RB2 guitar on the same Wii? Wonder if it works. Great friggin' game!!! Got to Abbey Road 67-68 and had to pack it in. Lovin' it so far.
  14. hahah! You beat me to it! WoW! I may have an extra copy of the game now. The Wife just called from Sears and says she found the full kit (drums' date=' guitar, mic, game) for the Wii for $159. It's $249 everywhere else! They only had one left so maybe this was an error in price at Sears? Their website says $249. I'm confused http://www.sears.ca/gp/product/B002O016SE/188-0633171-9016407?ie=UTF8&searsBrand=core Some pics of the contents here (minus the cat): http://www.destructoid.com/elephant/photo-m.phtml?post_key=147843 [img']http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3422/3887119850_5b785c1081.jpg

  16. LOL ... one of my Dad's evangelical buddies has a big RV. Maybe I should ask him to borrow it. That would be a good christian thing for them to do right? Maybe if we promise to hand out Holly Bibbles at the event
  17. Yeah, but I won't be playing it until about 5:30pm I wish we had an "office Wii" I totally need another Wii "guitar" (I wan't Paul's Hoffner bass) ... but $100?
  18. RV? I've got some good pics around somewhere. I remember walking around in where the woods camping is (it's all along a hiking trail). I felt like I was in Lord of the Rings or something We stumbled upon a small clearing where somebody had laid down some temporary floor, a tiki bar, and a disco ball and lights and had kickass tunes a blaring. Lots of good roots/folk music too. The Zydeco will keep you dancin' all night long.
  19. Just got back from the store with my new purchase: Fuck i hate being at work right now
  20. I did GBHF a few years in a row. Great fun, totally relaxed, NO nitrous, family friendly, you can sit on your cooler while watching the music (we even left our cooler unattended for an hour and nobody opened it!!! We shared our kind Canadian brews with our neighbours after that They have tents set up for jamming too. Bring an instrument and have some fun. Some serious deep woods camping fun too (much like Gratefulfest) where people have to hike in with their gear (no cars back there). They have car camping too and a "quiet/family" lot. The swimming pond can't come close to Gratefulfests, but it's all good.
