  1. YEEEEEEHAAAWWWW Leaving for PA after one more sleep. Weather is supposed to be sunny and 26°C for a HIGH The leaves should all be in full colour on the drive down. I won't be able to sleep tonight
  2. She's beautiful. Congratulations. You'll provide a happy life for this lucky dog.
  3. Unfugginbelievable! Unfortunately this sort of thing will raise its ugly head come voting day in the US. Sad. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/12/man-holds-monkey-doll-wit_n_133965.html Man Holds Monkey Doll With Obama Sticker At Palin Rally (VIDEO) CBS reports: As the crowd cheered at a Sarah Palin rally this morning in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a man in the audience grinned as he held up a stuffed monkey doll with a Barack Obama bumper sticker wrapped across its forehead. After Palin finished her remarks this morning, the man holding the stuffed monkey seemed to notice that a video camera was pointed at him, at which point he removed the Obama sticker from the doll's head and crumpling it up in his hand. He then handed the doll to a young boy who was watching the rally from his father's shoulders. The boy's parents later told CBS News that they weren't acquainted with the man who gave their son the stuffed monkey. But in this video, the man is clearly proud of his work:
  4. Hey, the Philly fans came through. For a rare moment in this lifetime I'm actually diggin' the fans in Philly for their warm reception for Palin the other night. Here are a couple of clips, one from the stands, one from the TV. http://www.eandppub.com/2008/10/hockey-mom-pali.html 'Hockey Mom' Palin Booed -- At Hockey Game Palin_hockey From the Sports Desk: You never know where you are gonna find a political scoop, but Lynn Zinser at her NYT hockey "Slapshot" blog just posted that Sarah Palin, in her much-ballyhooed appearance dropping the puck at the Philly Flyers' opener, was greeted by "resounding (almost deafening) boos from the Flyers crowd." Of course, Fox Sports was kinder, observing on its site, "The crowd reacted with a mixture of cheers and boos at her appearance." The AP was even kinder: The Alaska governor heard a few boos when she walked onto the ice Saturday night. But that soon turned to polite applause as she walked out to center ice." And Politico excused it this way: "The world's most famous 'Hockey Mom' was greeted, like most any politician likely would be at a Philly sporting event, with more boos than cheers." See video below. Fox also revealed: "The GOP Vice-Presidential nominee said at an earlier fundraiser that she would stop some of the booing from the rowdy Philadelphia fans by putting her seven year old daughter, Piper in a Flyers jersey. She said, 'How dare they boo Piper!'" So much for that theory. But Zinser's post at the NYT had a lot more in mind: "I would object to this sideshow whichever political party it involved. Having vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin drop the ceremonial first puck at the Flyers’ opener Saturday night was problematic not because it was Palin — Flyers owner Ed Snider’s decision under the flimsy excuse of 'honoring' hockey moms — but because it is injecting politics in a place it should not be." More: The biggest problem: when Palin came out to onto the Wachovia Center ice Saturday night — greeted by resounding (almost deafening) boos from the Flyers crowd — the the two hockey players who had no choice but to appear with her in that photo op were turned into props in a political campaign. If Rangers center Scott Gomez or Flyers center Mike Richards wanted to make some sort of political statement, that would be fine, but in this case, they were thrust into a situation not of their choosing. Snider put them there with his ill-advised mixing of politics and sports. The level of discomfort has been palpable for the Rangers’ two Alaska natives, Gomez and Brandon Dubinsky, as they have been asked questions about Palin and the election in recent weeks. Dubinsky, a 22-year-old who has shied away from nothing since he broke in with the Rangers last year, looks petrified when the topic gets brought up. I think both would rather play goalie in a shootout than weigh in on the presidential election. -- Greg Mitchell
  5. Yeah, it's the Great Lakes Brewery one. My wonderful wife picked it up for me at the LCBO here in Oakville (at the Hopedale Mall). B b b b bird bird bird the bird is the word ....
  6. Just tossed the turkey in the oven (the bird is the word man) and now i'm havinbeers. Starting out with one of there: Pumpkin Ale: In our pursuit to bring you the most flavourful and unique beers possible, we are proud to release this tasty autumn ale. Handcrafted with an assortment of specialty malts and hops, we added a generous amount of pumpkin directly into the brew. Combine this with hints of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and allspice, and you’ve got a beer that you won’t soon forget. Rich, satisfying and slightly spicy, our seasonal ale goes perfectly with your favourite dessert or traditional feast. But like fall, Pumpkin Ale comes but once a year!
  7. Holy shit. I sat down last night after enjoying some medicinal herbage and almost died laughing at this episode. You gotta find it and watch the entire episode. Family Guy BIRD IS THE WORD! - The funniest movie is here. Find it
  8. No alcohol sold INSIDE the venue??? Hmmmm. I don't want to be dealing with a cranky Hickster
  9. 2 daze to go. Just gotta get through a couple of turkeys and pumpkin pies first
  10. Losers. They should have handed off the Cup to the drummer to hold above his head!!
  11. Got to watching the game on the PVR later last night. Damn, that was fun to watch. Good to see a pack of hungry young players with nothing to lose. I liked Ron Wilson's quote: "This team's expectations are so low you can't even trip over them!" Moore looked particularly good. That was fun. Won't be tons of wins this year, so gotta enjoy 'em when they happen
  12. That was complettely lame. Holy shit, Def Leppard sucks!
  13. Nice observation!!! I guess it conveys to some voters that there's still a 'chance' that she's available Others have noted when she's not in front of national cameras, she doesn't wear a US flag pin, but a big "Alaska First, Alaska Always" pin (wonder if that was a gift from the Secessionists)
  14. Just remember: REAL WOMEN HUNT MOSE! I love some of the comments too: Real women dont charge others for rape kits! A more accurate way, in her case, is to say: "REAL WOMEN HUNT MOOSE, FROM HELICOPTER"! Mooselini The only way to spell "appalling" is with palin. Palin pro-life? Tell that to the moose! And, to the polar bears and wolf cubs.
  15. McCain is a very angry man. After reading the extended article in the upcoming Rolling Stone magazine about his past and his uncontrollable anger, this video doesn't surprise me at all. Just think, 30 military and gov't officials have formally complained about his anger over the years. Just think about how many didn't.
  16. No worries man. I think I made the right decision by NOT posting it in the Politics Forum .
  17. Thanks AD. Honestly, i didn't post the pic to be political in any way. I simply saw it in a collection of photographs and it really got to me emotionally. For me, I guess I see my wife, my son, and my daughter (who is 4 and has long blond hair like the girl in the pic) and it tugged on my soul. Just wanted to state that we should be thankful for what we do have, and who we have, will they're here.
  18. The first disc is quite painful I had forgotten how weak these shows were. I may have to skip ahead to the Ollin Arageed sections for some interesting rhythms.
  19. She gives a bad name to Hockey Moms (and Pitbulls too!)
  20. Stick her in the penalty box and let the fans at her
  21. Chance to win free tix for these shows: http://www.nowtoronto.com/cgi-bin/EH/EventHandler.cgi?Actn=Entry_Form&Fnm=smashingpumpkins&User_ID=contests
