Hey, you can always try casting a spell, magic, or praying ...
[color:purple]Yup, that's it, Pens are going to throw this game so that they can make some more money at the igloo.
The one and only NFL game that i've made it to was a Bills v Dolphins game. It was on the way home from a concert (i think Albany) one year. We went expecting a great rivalry game. Instead we got a cold, rainy day. Missed any tailgating that was going on. Got great seats for only $10 each (20 rows up on the 40 yd line) and watched a lame 9-6 game. Yes ... 5 fucking field goals! Whoop dee fuckin' doo
I've got a couple of friends who are die-hard Steelers fans. How hard do you think it will be to get tix for that Aug 14th game?
Oh please. The Leafs could not have handled the Pens in the playoffs. Get real! Mind you, they sure would have shown up better than the Pens' opponents that did make it.
Yup, as stupid as it was, it was a way of finding a loophole/bending the rules to create a small advantage. Wouldn't really expect it from anyone but Avery either. It should be named after him I'm glad that they have changed it and now made it illegal though (but strange that they'd add a rule DURING the playoffs!)
It's interesting that they keep talking about how it does not fall within the 'integrity' of the game, yet the verbal abuse (again non-contact stuff that players do) that players toss at one another (and it's downright nasty) and while they're in front of the net does show integrity?
Good to see it gone ... wonder if Avery will get a few extra hits for his efforts
Everyone around here has just stopped laughing for a few minutes from seeing the comedy routine before the puck dropped last night and then the continuation of the most unbelievable freefalls within a single NHL season.
But seriously, thanks for that Wilco link today though. I've played that tune at least a half a dozen times today. Wonder why they didn't include it on Sky Blue Sky?

Thanks for posting the link. Listening to it now. Which character(s) do you think inspired it?? I looked it up and it's an outtake from the Sky Blue Sky sessions.
Are you referring to the two animated Clone Wars episodes that were mentioned in this thread? If so, they were pretty cool to watch. I found them after reading the suggestion here and have watched them a couple of times with my son. I like the animation style and it looks like it is reflected in the CGI trailers.
