  1. ^^^^^ agreed. The call on Hatcher was totally fair. Price will start the game. If he doesn't keep up a respectable save percentage he'll be out before you know it. Overall, the refs were better last night than in most of the games, IMHO.
  2. Really? Thanks for the info. I really want to hit this show, but there's a lot of other stuff going on right around then, and I'm tapped for cash right now. I'm probably going to have to pass on it, or at least not get my tix until later (and take a chance). Good luck if you're giving it a try.
  3. Massey Hall presale this Wednesday: BLACK CROWES Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 8pm Massey Hall | $59.50 - $49.50 The Black Crowes are back together and back on tour. Nearly 20 years after they released their first album, and after an unceremonious split in 2002, their latest release, Warpaint, proves the band has lost none of their signature blend of blues-infused vintage hard rock. See the group Melody Maker Magazine hailed as “the Most Rock N' Roll Rock N' Roll Band in the World.†FRIENDS ON SALE: Wed April 30 at 10am PUBLIC ON SALE: Fri May 2 at 2pm A limit of 4 tickets per FriendsFirst account applies.
  4. That last minute of the 3rd was crazy. Too bad they couldn't get it on the friggin net though. Tough loss. Next game will show if they've got enough in the tank/brain to come back.
  5. NICE. I read most of it and like how it cuts down the "math" that Bell used to describe how P2P was being used by a few to hog a huge portion of bandwidth. The exhibits at the end that show the outright lies to customers are perfect. They should get so nailed for pulling this crap.
  6. The Price ain't right tonight and now he's on the bench.
  7. Anyone else catch those replays of Shanahan doing the "Reverse Avery"? Oh wait, I guess THAT's ok because he's not FACING the goalie like the new NHL rule that was created a couple of weeks ago
  8. Holy fuck ... what happened in the 2nd period there??? That second goal on Price was W E A K ! They should have got a goal on the 5 on 3 in the first and they only got one shot?!?! They gotta pull something out of their arses in the third. Where's the speed? Kill Downie ... do something!
  9. I suppose you thought the NHL was the League of National Hockey too, eh?
  10. There is hope for next season!!!:

    QOTD

Was that the show right after the 3-night run in Toronto? I was at all 3 in Toronto. On the second night I wandered all the way to the back, and top, of the stadium (by the rear stack of speakers). I started talking to an English guy who turned out to be one of the tour managers. He tells us how the band had been rehearsing DSOTM and had soundchecked it. We were hopefully going to get it the next night (for which I had killer floor tix). We were stoked, it didn't happen, and I think that they busted it out at the next show in Michigan (the one you were at?)
  12. Just watched that from the Habs thread. Classic! Love it. There was one done to this scene, with a hockey theme as well, last year wasn't there?
  13. wtf is up with San Jose? i know that Dallas are peaking right now, but come on ... drop 2 at home?!
  14. Yup, at the Marriott they were going to give us a room with 2 beds. I asked to be changed to a King and she bumped us into a room that was a bit bigger and was a corner unit (lots of windows and a balcony). It can NEVER hurt to ask if a hotel has something else available and you never know what they might give ya Good luck. Also, sometimes the "deals" don't start showing up until closer to the date you are going to be there too. Stressful, but the savings are worthwhile
  15. I just stayed at the Marriott a week ago. Got a really nice room for $65 on a Saturday night (so parking was free on the street ). We even had our dogs with us and there was no problem there either Great site for learning techniques and prices to bid is: http://betterbidding.com Best of luck.
  16. I'd love to catch the game (they've got Clemenson in net instead of Pogge? wtf?). It's my wife and daughter's birthday today ... probably not enough time to go home, get 'em and get back in time for the game. There's an outside chance, but i wouldn't know for a while.
  17. And lots of video up on youtube now: http://youtube.com/results?search_query=prince+coachella&search_type=&search=Search http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/28/arts/music/28coac.html?_r=1&oref=slogin “I’m so tired of debates, I don’t know what to do,†Prince said. “We’re going to beat the swords into plowshares tonight.†He got the crowd to chant “come together — war no more†at length. “From now on this is Prince’s house,†he said, satisfied, before his final encore. That may be in dispute — a sizable portion of the enormous crowd left early, perhaps turned off by an extended pop-gospel version of Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel†— but he was brilliant in the act of claiming squatter’s rights.
  18. Good luck you guys. You take care Bob and get to some Soo Greyhounds games this winter I'm sure you'll get some more entertainment out of them than you will the Leafs Safe travels and we'll see you when you're back in town for a show.
  19. Ha! I'm sure we were. I have fond memories of being able to boot around the site on my own and there were no worries. I remember there being a lot of artists there as well. Everything was interactive too. I remember a blacksmith letting me help him out (putting hot metal into cold water is wayyyy cool as a little kid). There was also dressup, crafts, etc. My sister made it on the cover of the Globe & Mail one year all dressed-up and hippie like as a youngun I give all the credit to my mom. She rocks. She brought me up on killer music and took me out to experience it as well. I remember going to see The Last Waltz and Tommy with her in the movie theaters. I took her to see Pink Floyd for her birthday at one of the 3 Division Bell shows at the Ex (i went to all 3 ). I asked her partway in how she was liking it ... she said it was really good, but not nearly as loud as the Animals tour at MLG!! Damn ... i must have been left home with a babysitter that night
  20. Damn, just finishing up the Ray Davies episode right now. Killer stuff. He's got a great band backing him up. Makes my pissed for missing the show here a couple of weeks ago
