  1. I totally agree with you. I don't know why they always interview players. Rarely do they have anything worthwhile to say. There are a few exceptions though. I remember Mogilny being one of them and he'd say some hilarious things, or take jabs at stupid questions from the media. They seemingly are in denial too. They need to show some more life on the bench. Do something ... anything! Don't even bother talking to the media. Let the coach do it and that's all. They're getting paid to perform on the ice not in TV interviews.
  2. No Booche, no whining. What's that picture above? Tickle practice? Talk about old news too, that guy doesn't play for the Leafs anymore does he?

  5. Hal, Are you talking about the Leafs as in the players, etc.? Or talking about fans? I'm the first to admit that they get beaten by better teams, or better teams on the given night. I find it interesting that there is a constant outward hatred towards the Leafs and their fans and how they are labelled as obnoxious and assholes. Sure, I admit that some are that way, BUT all teams have a segment that act like that. Most people I know who follow the Leafs are not like that though. They don't instantly attack somebody based on the team they cheer for. They are more than happy to enjoy the game without resorting to petty schoolyard name-calling. Healthy rivalries and ribbing are fun. Relentless trashing is boring and juvenile. Now back to watching some games on TV (and not the Leafs ... they don't deserve my time right now).

  10. I think with those VIP tix you actually get to "meet" him and he'll sign his book for ya Ask him to make it out to "Monica" (tell him that's your mom's name) and see his reaction! You could then always turn around and sell the book as a collectors item along with a cigar and blue dress .

  12. http://www.nypost.com/seven/11082007/gossip/pagesix/lion_smells_600059.htm November 8, 2007 -- "LION King" audiences at the Minskoff have been sniffing the sweet scent of marijuana. It turns out the pot-head fans of former Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, who's doing a nine-day stint at the Nokia Theater next door, were lighting up. "The smoke was so thick it was seeping through the wall and into the Disney audience, and they started complaining," a spy at Monday's show told The Post's Bruce Golding. "The ushers are now very vigilant and making sure nobody lights up." A Nokia rep admitted there were complaints. The Minskoff had no comment.

  17. While programming commercials today at work I noticed that CBC is airing a Cowboy Junkies special on Friday night at midnight. Celebrating 20 years since recording the "Trinity Sessions" they made a video. I'm sure this isn't the whole thing (only a one hour show) but you never know. Here are the details from the Cowboy Junkies' site: http://www.cowboyjunkies.com/exclusives/trinity/main_content.html# Trinity Revisited The recording of The Trinity Session was a momentous occasion in, not only, our bands life, but also, our individual lives. The day that the album was recorded, we walked out of the church feeling that we had just participated in something that was much greater than the sum of its parts. The subsequent release of the album and the way that it captured the hearts, minds and souls of so many people in so many different ways, and in so many different parts of the world seemed to indicate that something special did happen in the church that day and, lucky for us, we had a tape deck locked in record. The day after the recording our mother happened to be visiting us while we listened to the playback. After listening for a while she turned to us and said, “your lives will never be the sameâ€â€¦and she was right. In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of that very special day we decided to take the risky move of going back to the Church of the Holy Trinity and seeing what twenty years of experience would bring to those same set of songs. Our goal was not to re-do The Trinity Session, but to re-interpret it. In order to give the project an edge we asked along some artists whose own work and lives were in some way affected by Trinity and whose work has also had an affect on our lives and music. Much like the first time around, we kept rehearsal to a minimum. The idea was to cobble together a loose band sound and to let the church and music take over while the tape was running. Ryan Adams, Vic Chesnutt and Natalie Merchant all showed up keen to participate in our little experiment and once again, the church took over. We couldn’t have dreamed of a better end result for this project. We were all a little astounded at how good things sounded and how easily it was for the eight of us to meld together as a group. The Lamoureux brothers, Pierre and Francois, did an astounding job at capturing the performance on the fly. The DVD looks and sounds beautiful. Trinity Revisted is a special document celebrating a special day in our lives. Sometimes its unwise to revisit past glories, but sometimes, that’s just what those glories require….enjoy. Trinity Revisted is a two disc set. One disc is a CD which plays stereo audio like any other CD. The other disc is a DVD which will work in any DVD player or computer. The performance was shot in High Definition Video and recorded at 96K for the highest audio and visual experience. The audio on the DVD was mixed in stereo as well as 5.1 surround sound. There is also a bonus documentary included on the DVD which features the band along with Jeff Bird and Peter Moore sitting around, getting drunk and talking about the good ol’ days.
  18. Right on. Well, if you ever need a really good/dedicated guy for a job there, I'm sure he'd be more than willing to jump ship . If you come across Tom from GFS, be sure to say hi
  19. Olbermann ROCKS! You have to watch this video from a couple of nights ago. Keith has been speaking out against the Bush regime for a long time, when most other "journalists" have been cowards. Special Comment: On waterboarding and torture
  20. yea ... especially with our strong dollar now. We should be getting them for CHEAPER now!
