  1. Fines are always an issue as they tend to not be a problem for those with lots of money. There are many people who gladly amass TONS of parking tickets and then pay them off as an "expense" of driving. They don't care. I think "incentives" should come in the form of tax receipts. Much like making a charitable donation, I think that if you donate blood, sign your organ donor card, etc. you should get a tax receipt. Not only does this give the person a bit of a break, it also ensures that more people will actually file their taxes, no?
  2. Seriously? Why can't you answer the door to your own house wearing whatever (or nothing)? Curious.
  3. Well, first two periods were good ... talk about end-to-end play. Typical third period breakdown ... bummer Guess they need another match with AD's Junior B Sens, 'cause we all know that the teams on the ice on Saturday played like Junior B teams ... yep.
  4. Anyone else hear anything about this? http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5jOrbVFsQmmgUMTimaZFtPjpG9zmQ
  5. http://www.eyes-and-vision.com/influence-of-culture-on-visual-perception.html?rss.do A "Psychological" Optical Illusion: The influence of culture and environment can have an effect on our visual perception. This theory was first explored by Robert Laws, a Scottish missionary working in Malawi, Africa, during the late 1800's. Take a look at the picture below. What you see will largely depend on where you live in the world. After you have examined the picture, scroll down for a more detailed explanation. So What Did You See? What is above the woman's head? When scientists showed a similar sketch to people from East Africa, nearly all the participants in the experiment said she was balancing a box or metal can on her head. In a culture containing few angular visual cues, the family is seen sitting under a tree. Westerners, on the other hand, are accustomed to the corners and boxlike shapes of architecture. They are more likely to place the family indoors and to interpret the rectangle above the woman's head as a window through which shrubbery can be seen.
  6. Roller ... i love that jersey in your avatar, btw. Curious, does the number 43 hold any significance ??
  7. LOL ... he at least was able to let EVERYONE know that he has one too
  8. LOL ... that kid will never be able to get rid of that one . Maybe, it should have been more like ... Tlusty caught the Sens' defence with their dicks hanging out. I'm just glad he kept his pants on after the goal.

  11. I had to laugh reading about the release of some of the older episodes of Sesame Street on DVD. I grew up as a kid in the 70s and loved that show. I can't believe that so much of the stuff is considered too much for today's kids. Here's the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/18/magazine/18wwln-medium-t.html?ei=5070&en=fc6155a03130a9ec&ex=1196139600&emc=eta1&pagewanted=all
  12. 30,000 - 80,000 people! Wonder what the lineup will be. http://blog.mlive.com/chronicle/2007/11/double_jj_planning_huge_event.html
  13. LOL ... That has to be the biggest gap in posts on this thread since the offseason!!!
  14. Also confirmed ... MONTREAL on March 2nd, 2008. Tix on sale Saturday.
  15. Hamilton confirmed for March 3rd!! Tix still cheaper in the US than in Canada
  16. It was a shame that year. I'll always lament the fact that they didn't get to play one another in the final. Mainly because both teams were good at that point, and it was the last time that it was possible for the two to faceoff in the Cup final (unless they realign the league again and put Toronto in the West). Kirk Muller rocks. Love seeing him involved behind the bench now too. Man was he ready to go on Saturday night or what? He's still gotta have a better on-ice memory of the Rivalry though, come on Kirk.
  17. Shhhhh, quiet ... we're planning the parade route, asshole!
  18. They did use CGI in Iron Giant ... but primarily for the Giant himself. They made the computer make it 'look' like it was hand-drawn though Check out this cool article on the making of the film: http://irongiant.warnerbros.com/cmp/ig_how_movie.htm
  19. Iron GIant is a FANTASTIC movie. I loved it (and have seen it a number of times). I didn't know that Increds and Ratatouille were all directed by the same guy. No wonder i love all three of those flicks. I am pretty sure that in Iron Giant that they utilized computers for a number of aspects of the animation. Its just that it's not as noticeable since it blends into the style (like the kind they used in the Simpsons Movie or on opening sequence to Futurama, etc.)
  20. Holy Fuck! THAT was an entertaining game. Where have THOSE Leafs been all year. They were definitely the better team tonight. Got all 3 stars easily. Totally thought that Alfie was going to wreck the shutout at the end there. Good on ya Leafs ... lets see some more of THAT!
  21. Click on the pic for a slideshow from the KoolHaus gig:
