  1. What about THIS Wild Horses by one of Canada's finest?
  2. Really? Oh, it must be the first few rows of the Gallery that have the full ticket price. The 2 i scored in the gallery for the 3rd show were at the $87.50 price or whatever, but they were at the back i think. I remember getting some tix for CS&N when they played Massey a number of years ago. I had great seats down low, but I got my mom a pair. She was side gallery and basically saw C&N (couldn't even see S because that side of the stage couldn't be seen!!
  3. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=219236&hubname=nhl The Senators got some good news on Dean McAmmond Wednesday. The forward does not have any factures after being hit by Philadelphia's Steve Downie in an exhibition game on Tuesday night. The NHL is reviewing the incident but are not expected to take any action until they have a full report.
  4. N I C E ! Thanks for posting this. I'm hitting the links to the tunes right now.
  5. LOL ... more comfortable than the "gallery" seats up top. They still haven't put cushions on those have they?? I remember being up there once and sitting in some HARD wooden seats ... no wonder they were cheaper
  6. Bob McKenzie is Bob McKenzie's biggest fan. He loves to hear himself talk. That posting of his makes many valid points. However, it's all over the map. He lays out some details that show how the actual hit is inconclusive and to instead determine how evil this was by what happened before and after the hit. Then at the end he says there's no question as to what happened? What is it Bob? Of course he does have to interject that he's known Downie since peewee hockey and admires him (he always kisses ass). I think that the biggest concern here (other than the obvious ... McAmmond's health and speedy recovery) is that if they want to eliminate the possibility of these sorts of event occurring then they have to alter the rule book. Right now, the definitions are vague enough to permit these sorts of things. Question: what happens if there is retaliation in an ensuing game like McGratton publicly stated? McGratton's public comments could be used as evidence that there is "intent to injure" and therefore, no matter how debatable a hit is in that game (one that doesn't technically fall outside of the rules), subject to the same suspension terms that will come out of this one. What do you think? I'm curious. I think that this is why you won't see Campbell dump a 25 game suspension like he did last year. I think he'll end up getting a few games and then they'll look at tweaking the rules for some more control. btw - i could care less what 2 teams are involved in this. ps - dave-O i ain't telling you what grade i'm in, but lunch is almost over and i'm already working for afternoon recess :)
  7. Again, it's a borderline call on all accounts, but just looks really bad (like the Neil hit last year). Wrong. Here's the point where he just released the puck back. Four players and a net in the way. When you watch in real time there is literally less than a second from here to the hit. OK, when watching in real time is deceiving. Take a look at where he is at the time of contact and tell me that this is "launching himself" into McAmmond. If he jumped from the other side of the icing line i'd understand, but he's mere inches away: Exactly. It's the result of a very aggressive body check and a player that failed to position themselves for a hit (blind-sided). Yup, but this is the time when goons have to prove themselves to make the squad. Somebody mentioned before that the biggest problem with preseason is the risk of injury to players. Whatchagonna do? Maybe they could impose some sort of preseason rules to protect the players that much more? It's a possibility ... but i doubt it'll happen.
  8. Thanks for the info. I look forward to the spring
  9. Looks borderline to me. It was NOT a late hit and there's now way that Downie could have seen that the puck wasn't there. If what makes it "dirty" is Downie getting his feet off the ice, it's marginal as well if you see the different angles. It's an aggressive hit in an aggressive game and within the limits that the rule book states. Unfortunate, and I hope that McAmmond recovers from it. Should be fun to watch what happens on Sep 25 and at what point of the game it arrives in.
  10. When are the DBT coming back?!?!?! I'm dyin' to catch them live. Oh shit, that reminds me ... gotta go and grab that Bettye Lavette CD with the DBT as her band. They were going to call it "Exile on Bettye LaVette Street" but she's no Stones fan ... see: http://www.bettyelavette.com/scene-of-the-crime.html Scene of the Crime

  12. Wow! Nice cover Maclean's! I hadn't seen/heard about this until watching a clip of Bill Maher (with Janeane Garofalo and Salmon Rushdie). Garofolo takes a good jab at Harper too

  15. Here's a detailed report of the rehearsal show (tour kicks off tonight i believe). If you don't want to know the setlist, don't read the bottom of this post ... but HOLY FUCK what a setlist!
  16. Damn, wish i had known about these. Anyone else catch one of the mini-gigs? http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/2007/09/24/4521809-cp.html
  17. WoW! Check out what Barlow was up to this past weekend. It could still be going on . Sounds like quite the party. This was an invitation that he emailed out: http://tommydevine.blogspot.com/2007/09/on-barlow.html

  19. Thanks for the transcript of Bollinger's opening comments. What I found fascinating is that it's not easy to find a transcript of Ahmadinejad's comments/responses. In all the articles i've sifted through, they are regurgitated in sound-bytes via the writer. For somebody who is cursed by translation and out-of-context issues, why can't the media just fucking put the full text up and let those of us intelligent enough to read make up our OWN MINDS!! This is how propaganda is perpetuated. I was impressed by this anonymous response to the transcripts on the Salon site:
