  1. Damn, I knew the man was a musical genius. Great singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and harp player. NEVER, had I ever heard of him wailing on a drum kit. Check out this footage (there was no embedding code, so there's just a link). Watch the bass drum action right at the end. WOW! Enjoy: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4SCZv7786KY

  4. I'd be happy to take that DVD if you're giving it away If it was on a weekend, or you could get the time off, it's worth travel.
  5. I think U2 is def a top rank live act. I wasn't too enthralled by much of their stuff in the 90s, but that's cool. I saw them at MLG in 1985 and was blown away (nothing on the stage except them, no props, cars, disco balls) and they were kickass. Next time I saw them was last year at the ACC and was again blown away. It was great to see a band 21 years later and they've still got it.
  6. Now on to Joe's Garage ... back on the bus, you know ... home:
  7. LOL ... i should have placed the emphasis that it was to be heard a la Big Lebowski;
  8. Getting pumped for Monday at the Hummingbird :D Wonder what Shrenk Zappa sounds like

  10. Sirius to sneak peek Grateful Dead Channel Friday, July 27, 2007 at 07:40 AM Filed under: Sirius Sirius Music Grateful Dead ChannelSirius Satellite Radio will be given deadheads a sneak peek at their upcoming Grateful Dead channel from August 1st through August 9th. Jam_On (ch 17), which normally is Sirius' home for jam bands, will be taken over by the Dead for this special preview (no worries, Jam_On's regular programming will return on August 10th). The Grateful Dead Channel will officially launch sometime later this summer (which isn't too far away). The channel will feature music spanning the band's entire career with unreleased concert recordings, and special commentary from remaining members (Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh and Bob Kreutzmann). Other features will include memories and music from members of The Grateful Dead's tight-knit musical family tree, as well as rare archival interviews with Jerry Garcia himself.
  11. Happy B-day Tara. It's been great getting to meet you at shows this year. Looking forward to lots more ... and of course Grateful Fest 2008 !!
  12. Tell your NASCAR buddy that he's out of his element. Car racing involves stamina and mental ability, but those arguments he listed are more technical finesse related to the vehicle, not the athelete. 13. Who else is going? I'm psyched for the Toronto show on Monday. Thanks for posting this article. It articulates well what this show is all about. Last year's show was a live music highlight for me. I was really impressed with Joe Travers (drums) and Aaron Arntz (keyboards/trumpet). Fantastic musicians who are noticeably enthralled by performing this art on stage. PERFECT! I urge people to come see this show. Even if you don't know that much material by Zappa at all, you will still be blown away by the performance. See and hear where Trey got a huge portions of his influences. The last time you could get in pretty cheap with extras floating about outside. Some fine seats avail right now too: Section ORCH9 Row M Seats 53-54 Description ORCHESTRA SEATING CENTRE SECTION or you could try to win freebies from Q107 up until midnight tonight: http://listenersclub.q107.com/SweepstakeDetail.asp?aid=35270&status=Current
  14. Good work Lowe. I'm sure he has a few more tricks up his sleeve too. I'll root for the Oilers in the West.
  15. yup, neither one could play the others' game well. Picture a lineman on skates Picture Alfredsson on the Offensive line As "overall" athletes i give the nod to hockey players (endurance, toughness, sliding around with steel attacked to their boots on ice, etc. etc.) Nfl'ers are much more 'specialized' to their induhvidual position.
  16. a lot easier being tough when your face is covered with a face mask and all they do is shove one another when they "fight" How many NFL'ers are missing a lot of teeth!
  17. "spiderpig spiderpig does whatever a spiderpig does" LOL ... best movie EVER! I can't wait to see this one Super long trailer:
  18. Stumbled upon this. Everybody's mocking the pathetic "celebs" and their troubles: Trippy photo spread in Vogue Italia dramatizes the lives of coke-snorting, serial-rehabbing, gash-flashing celebutards: Link . Contains yoga and nudity.
  19. News from the backwards From boingboing.net http://www.boingboing.net/2007/07/26/congress_votes_to_ra.html Congress votes to raid medical marijuana dispensaries The US House voted against the Hinchey Medical Marijuana Amendment, which would have prohibited the feds from busting people for possession of small quantities of marijuana. To celebrate, the DEA raided six medical marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles, even though the people of California passed a law that allows dispensaries to operate in the state. Another examples of how states rights only matter to politicians when it furthers their ideological agendas. Link Reader comment: Lee says: I wanted to give you all the full picture of SoCal and the DEA. The following ( here ) was played on the local Pasadena NPR affiliate 89.3 KPCC this morning. It states that 10 clincs were shut down yesterday. This also does not count an additional two in the Inland Empire region of SoCal which were shut down as recently as 2 weeks ago, I have provided the notices provided to patients through the local Patient Group (of which I am a member). I'm sure you know, and any copy of next weeks LA-Weekly or The Onion you pick up will prove this doesn't change anything about access to medical pot in LA. and despite the feds we have the support of local legislators.
  20. Well done ... great pics ... where are the milfs? See ya in November.
  21. One of my other all time favourite scenes wasn't included. I loved it when they bust the blind man for pot (he says it medicinal for his eyes ) and then the cops have a party at his house. Anytime this has been on reruns, the stupid advertising and promos for the station's upcoming stuff kills the ending credits when they are playing Marley's Jammin'.
  22. LOL ... too funny. I'm sure they'll eventually want passports for pets. Being a BORDER Collie, he should get a free pass at the border
