Daniel Alfredsson, B-plus: Had flashes of brilliance in the final. Intentionally shooting puck at Scott Niedermayer in Game 4 is most memorable, which is not good. But give the classy captain credit for his gutsy two-goal performance in Game 5. Dean McAmmond, B: A consistent third-line effort before being knocked out of series in Game 3 by Pronger elbow. Antoine Vermette, B: Gritty effort throughout the final, a top penalty killer. Chris Neil, B-minus: Played particularly well in the games at Scotiabank Place. A source of energy for the Senators. Oleg Saprykin, C-plus: Sat a game and was used sparingly when dressed, but still managed to stand out, especially in Game 5. Christoph Schubert, C: Threw some nice hits. Did what was asked of him. Patrick Eaves, C: Nice play setting up Heatley goal in Game 4 but played sparingly. Chris Kelly, C-minus: After a three-goal flourish in the first round against Pittsburgh not much to write home about. Dany Heatley, D: It's going to be a long summer after scoring just one goal in the final. Mike Comrie, D-minus: Second-liner went 17 games games without a goal to finish the playoffs. Peter Schaefer, D-minus: Not very noticeable for a second-line player. Jason Spezza, F: Has anyone seen Jason Spezza? Defencemen Chris Phillips, A-minus: Logged big minutes on top pairing and made very few mistakes. You have to feel bad for him after the freak own-goal off Ray Emery in Game 5. Anton Volchenkov, B: A few of his defensive lapses led directly to goals, but he made up for it by blocking shots and scoring a goal in Game 3 win. Tom Preissing, C: Made the most of his limited minutes. Joe Corvo, C-minus: He heard footsteps from Anaheim's physical forecheck. Andrej Meszaros, C-minus: Wasn't much of a factor at either end of the ice. Wade Redden, D-minus: Canadian Olympian caught out of position on Ducks winning goal in Game 4 - the game that ultimately cost Ottawa the series. Overall he struggled all playoff long. Goaltender Ray Emery, D: Was solid in the two losses in Game 1 and 2 but then his play slipped big-time. He was shaky in Game 4 and Game 5.

Samuel Pahlsson, A: Helped shut down Ottawa's Big Three and scored the winning goal in Game 2. Ryan Getzlaf, A: This guy has superstar written all over him. Arguably the top Duck. Rob Niedermayer, A-minus: Played important minutes. One of the best defensive forwards on the team. Corey Perry, B-plus: Another key member of the Anaheim youth line, Perry played with a surprising amount of edge in this Stanley Cup. Travis Moen, B-plus: Checking line winger broke tie late in Game 1 with winning goal and added two goals in the decisive Game 5. Teemu Selanne, B: The Finnish Flash set up key winning goal in Game 4. He's finally reached the pinnacle of the sport. Dustin Penner, B: Big Bulldog's only goal in the series put Anaheim up 3-1 in the series. Todd Marchant, C: Veteran centre was one of the players coach Randy Carlyle could count on for a good shift when the big guns needed a rest. Brad May, C: Some described the six minutes 20 seconds he played in Game 1 as the best of his career. He was especially tenacious on the forecheck. Shawn Thornton, C-minus: Part of good fourth-line effort in opening game with May and Marchant. Drew Miller, C-minus: Helped fill gap on top line in first two games before being scratched for the rest of the series. Joe Motzko, no rating: Didn't play enough to make any impact. Ryan Carter, no rating: Same as Motzko. Chris Kunitz, no rating: played only parts of two games. Defencemen Scott Niedermayer, A: A fourth Stanley Cup ring for this veteran greybeard. Anaheim's most consistent blue-line performer. Francois Beauchemin, B: Played big minutes for this championship team. Showed signs of fatigue at times. Chris Pronger, B: Had as much impact in four games as most guys did in five. Still, he was fortunate suspension didn't hurt Ducks more. Sean O'Donnell, B-minus: Solid and reliable. Kent Huskins, C: Unheralded 28-year-old rookie held his own. Ric Jackman, C-minus: Dressed for first four games of the final but didn't play very much. Joe DiPenta, C-minus: Got into the lineup when Pronger was suspended for Game 4 and didn't make any big gaffes. Goaltender J.S. Giguere, B: Didn't have to be as good as 2003 final, but was still the difference in these close games. Proved he's at his best when it counts most.
  3. http://concerts.wolfgangsvault.com/concertdetail.aspx?id=20050834|5383 Paul Simon Tower Theater Philadelphia, PA 10/07/1980 Tracks: 6 Total Time: 25:53 Paul Simon - guitar, vocals Michael Brecker - horn Jon Faddis - flugelhorn Steve Gadd - drums Eric Gale - guitar Richard Tee - piano, keyboards, vocals Tony Levin - bass, background vocals Ralph MacDonald - percussion Hugh McCracken - guitar Lani Groves - background vocals This partial live show comes a full decade after the demise of Simon & Garfunkel, and was recorded while Simon was promoting his both new album and semi-autobiographical film, One Trick Pony. The record, which Simon claimed was not a soundtrack, faired much better than the film (which was his first and last attempt at being a movie maker). The film has been forgotten, but the songs from the album went on to be part of his long term musical repertoire. "Late In The Evening" was the biggest track to emerge from One Trick Pony, and Simon does this song last in a set that was part of a full length two hour show. Other highlights include his first solo hit, “Me And Julio Down By The Schoolyard,†from his self-titled 1972 debut Something So Right; the title track to the film, “One Trick Pony,†and a smooth and groove drenched version of “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover,†the smash hit that won him a Grammy from 1975’s Still Crazy After All These Years. Because of the intricate rhythms many of his newer songs had developed, Simon assembled an all-star band of mostly jazz heroes. He attained three fifths of the Stuff band (Steve Gadd on drums, Richard Tee on keyboards, and Eric Gale on guitar), as well as future King Crimson/Peter Gabriel bassist, Tony Levin. Simon was riding high from the success of his ‘70s solo records when he made this recording, but he would see a lull during the 1980s until he exploded with Graceland in 1986.

  6. Wonder what her long forgotten sister would have to say about this http://chump-style.blogspot.com/ Conscience Glover, its been reported, has grown up in rural Namibia ever since she was abandoned by parents Kathy Hilton and Lethal Weapon star Danny Glover's brother Whydoncha back in the early 80s. "The sex was lame" Whydoncha said "all she did was lie there, probably the reason for Paris' squiff eye and her penchant for prison guards". In other news, news of Paris having to enjoy a cavity search before entering her cell on Monday morning may be boring, even unnecessary to many but strangely excited this young reporter. Although thinking about it, I'm sure it was a wasted exercise - reports have it that she's never been able to flex (in this case, hold anything with) those muscles ever since the Manhattan Ladder 11 fire extinguisher incident.
  7. Wow' date=' didn't know that was out yet.[/quote'] Yup, came out today, but I grabbed it a few days ago off of OINK; http://oink.me.uk/details.php?id=1315622
  8. yup, it sure looked that way. It's over, and those two are professionals. I'm sure that Neidermayer winning not just the Stanley Cup, but also the Conn Smythe, helped ease any tension as well Best trophy in the world. Best sport in the world. Congratulations Ducks ... a well deserved championship. ENJOY!

  15. What a fucking joke. If Paris didn't come from a wealthy background she would NOT be getting this sort of treatment. What a slap in the face to your average upstanding citizens Paris Hilton is out of jail, but the Simple Life star will be confined to her house and forced to wear an electronic monitoring device, police said at a press conference Thursday morning. Law enforcement agreed to reassign Paris to her home for "medical reasons." Those reasons were not revealed to reporters due to privacy laws. Paris will not be allowed to leave her home for the next 40 days, after which her sentence will be done.
  16. Bruce Springsteen LIVE IN DUBLIN freakin' AWESOME
  17. LOL ... that was hilarious. Wonder if she cashed out?
  18. Turtlenecks were standard hockey gear back in the 1880s. Wonder if Yashin could have played with these guys? 1880s Hockey Team Features Skates were attached with small screws to boots, bought separately. The handles of sticks were rounded - later made rectangular for better grip. The players have bare hands as padded hockey gauntlets did not appear until 1904. Players sometimes used leather work gloves or mittens. Short shin pads, worn outside of stockings and held in place with leather buckled straps, were not worn by all players. Most Goal Tenders used cricket pads into the early 1900s as they would not be used otherwise through the winter months. Larger Ice Hockey Goal Tender Pads appeared around 1900. Most goal tenders used ordinary hockey stick until early 1900. Winnipeg Victorias used wider blade beginning in 1893, and, from review of photos, appear to have been first to do so. Heavy hand-knit turtle neck sweaters were the only form of body protection. Long trousers or over-the-knee jodhpurs were commonly used. Short trousers appeared of necessity around 1915 when knee pads were invented and began to be worn under long stockings.
  19. Booche, Glad you had a good time. Like you, I had a few reservations before dropping the bucks on the ticket for a show last year. It was worth every damn penny!!! What a show, eh? This visuals and sound are absolutely stunning. He's coming through Toronto and Darien Lake. I hope I can get to one of them again.
  20. Congratulations to the Anahiem Ducks for an amazing Stanley Cup Championship win. They dominated their opponent on almost every level in order to hoist that Cup last night. They played with intensity, fire, passion and determination. They will be a force to be reckoned with for the next few seasons too, as they will have very few changes to their lineup for next year. Way to go Ducks!
  21. If they do, i'm going to organize a public burning of turtle-necks in front of the ACC!!!
  22. Sure, just as funny as your comment that the Ducks were playing boring hockey ... i just about spilt my coffee here. And Murray not getting out coached? He could never get the match-ups that he needed at home and away. He sure couldn't motivate them last night (Alfie and Fisher were giving it their all right to the bitter end). Time to go back and lick the wounds. They'll be back next year. Will Murray?
  23. Congrats on a great Cup run Sens ... really. After the first 3 rounds it looked like it was in the bag. The off season can heal wounds and refocus a team on reaching the top again. You guys are lucky in that there is still a youthful core to the team that can be built upon. A better start to next season and the Sens will be contenders again. Fisher is one class act (great poise being interviewed by NBC after the first period last night).
  24. I think that they only had 4 shots on net at the half-way mark of the game!!! And it's not like they were killing penalties the entire time either, they had 3 power plays in the first. Sheer domination by the Ducks. Murray got out-coached. Should have taken my advice and put in Gerber for the Third :D
