  1. He had to hit the sauce earlier than normal for the 5pm start
  2. He played 29 minutes!!! He 'seemed' invisible, but he had to be partly responsible for holding the Sens to only 20 shots over the game. If they sit Neil and/or Schaeffer, will Gratton or Saprykin fill in on the same physical level? The Ducks forechecking could become even more intense. You gotta keep a fighter on the ice when you're up against the team that had, by far, the most fights in the regular season, no? I don't understand this reasoning. Where the Ducks not off for almost as long? Why would they have had an advantage in terms of "game shape"? The Sens got out there 2 days ahead of time which allowed them to "adjust" with more than enough time. I think the "nervous" factor is the main one though. I agree. You'll definitely see the Sens come back hard tomorrow night. Whichever team takes the dumb penalties early will be the loser.

  4. Nobody said that they were the greatest spellers in Anaheim. Give 'em an A for effort
  5. I thought that Murray was really smart keeping Neil on a short leash during the Buffalo series. He wasn't really needed, and it kept him out of the penalty box. Last night, Neil was getting easily agitated. At one point they were getting ready for a face-off near the Ducks' bench and he was reacting to guys chirping at him. He shouldn't get distracted right before/as the puck drops. If they get to him, he'll be the first one to take a dumb penalty. There's more than enough Ducks ready to take him on. Murray's gotta hold him back until absolutely necessary, IMHO.
  6. I had no idea that Bear lived as a complete carnivore (other than spices) ... WHOA! http://www.thesteaksarehigh.com/2007/05/the_bears_spicy.html The Bear, or Owsley Stanley, is not only a former underground LSD chemist and soundman for the Grateful Dead, but perhaps one of the most controversial carnivores out there, judging by the storm he caused over at the Active Low-Carber Forums. At age 71, he has eaten nothing whatsoever from any vegetable sources other than spices for forty-seven years. He believes the natural human diet is completely carnivorous. You can find his words of wisdom, and a band of loyal followers, at the spin-off Active No-Carber Forums... But what you find here today is an amazing recipe he shared. The spice mix is not too important, and you can throw in whatever combination you like, but the cream cheese mixed with the butter makes for the juiciest roast chicken I've ever tasted. If you have a spit and can slow roast the chicken, even better. Ingredients: 1 fresh whole roasting chicken ½ package (4oz) cream cheese, softened to room temperature 1 stick unsalted butter, slightly softened 1 tablespoon ground cumin 1 tablespoon ground coriander 2 tablespoons curry powder Method: Preheat oven to 450°F. Line roasting tin with aluminum foil. In an electric mixer or blender, combine cream cheese, butter and spices. Beat to form a smooth spice paste. Separate the skin from the chicken with your hand, and push spice mixture between the skin and the flesh of the chicken. This gets messy! Use a spoon to reach awkward spots like the thighs or sides of chicken. Spread remaining spice mixture over the surface of the chicken skin. Place chicken in the roasting tin, leaving uncovered. Let chicken roast for 15-20mins, then turn down the oven temperature to 350°F. for the rest of the cooking time. The length of REMAINING cooking time (after first 15-20mins) will depend on the size of your bird: 2½ -3 lbs ---------> 1 hour 3-4 lbs ---------> 1 ½ hours 4-6 lbs ---------> 1 ¾ hours
  7. where is everyone? I thought the Stanley Cup finals had started!
  8. Get the latest upgrade for Google and look what it'll do:
  9. yup, definitely looks like penalties will be one of the biggest deciding factors. Therefore, it's up to the frickin' refs to make this a good series. Let's keep it consistent to be fair to both teams. I can't believe the stats when I see that the Sens only got 3 shots on net in the first period (with 2 power plays). They've gotta get more shots on net when they get those power plays (7-4 in favour of Ottawa last night) and total only 20 at the end of the game. Ottawa's special teams were critical in their success against Buffalo. They need to find that magic again. I really think that both goalies were lackluster. Neither had many spectacular saves. I did like Emery's that he snagged with his trapper as he was falling back. That could have been a blooper goal that would have sealed the game even earlier. Wade Redden got a nice goal on that power play, but he looked outplayed for most of the game. Pronger took a stupid penalty in the last minute of the game. He was pretty quiet for most of the game I thought. Fischer was by far the best Senator on the ice. He never ceases to impress me. Stephen Stills should NOT be singing the anthem. That was about as good as Rosanne Barr's rendition years ago
  10. It could very well have saved his job for next season .
  11. Muppets do Lord of the Rings (at the Silver Snail in Toronto) https://www.silversnail.com/shop/m-muppets.html
  12. I could have sworn I posted a topic on the opening of this place a few days ago. I don't see it anywhere. http://studentweb.eku.edu/zachary_lynn/museum/index.html
  13. Nobody posting?? WTF? That was a fantastic hockey game. Kick ass hockey from both sides. This is gonna be good Sens owned the first 10mins. Looked like it was gonna be their game. Than that outburst by the Ducks mid way through the period ... wow! Ottawa did a great job in controlling the game in the second. The third was dominated by the Ducks. That Getzlaf goal was amazing. Never seen a backhand so quick. Other than a couple of questionable calls/non calls, for both sides, it was a decently reffed game (as far as this post season has been!) Bring on Game 2
  14. Like Harry Neale said on Hockey Night In Canada tonight, responding to a question which answer was obviously yes: Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back?
  15. You guys up for some preshow patio partying? Was discussing this with Baj and the Cap'n. I know there's not a lot immediately around the Phoenix, and there are some sketchy areas around it too. But I do know this one joint right near Parliament and Berkeley. It's only 5 blocks away from the venue. They have a patio, should have the game on, and have pretty good food too. Wednesday is 1/2 price pizza!!! Check it out: http://www.dine.to/brasstaps-cabbagetown menu: http://www.dine.to/restaurants/brasstaps/menu.php?establishmentid=3819
  16. I've got some pretty good pics from that show. Got some moe. and Hornsby up close since nobody was in there at that point (it was a work day and all ) Then a security guy freaked because I had a telephoto lens. Said fuck it, and packed away the camera. Arlo was the MC wasn't he? Bobby was Ratdog at the time and Wasserman was still performing with him. The next day, moe. did a Monkeys On Ecstasy gig at their old haunt, Broadway Joe's in Buffalo. Big Wolly Mammoth and I went and had a blast. Man, did it go late Here's Chuck from that gig:
  17. Yup, she talked about that. She's on a bit of a book tour. Her book is essentially about mastering fear. Sounds interesting. She was a staunch Republican up until 10 years ago she said. Her logic was very honest. She spoke about how the current-day Republican party is nothing at all like it was when she was a member. I don't know what day her interview will be on The Hour, but it would be worth checking out. I'm going to go to as many of these tapings as I can get to. They aren't that long, and he gets some really interesting characters on. I believe that George will be interviewing Schwartzenegger next week. I'm going to try to get in to that one too, if I can :
  18. Oh yeah baby ... check out those boots!
  19. The reason that NBC isn't covering the hockey game tonight: http://www.damnfunnypictures.com/html/Miss-Universe-Costumes.html And Bettman thinks that people would really rather look at this?
  20. For those of you who remember one of the funniest game shows ever. I loved this show as a kid. They don't make game shows like this anymore. Charles Nelson Reilly is [bLANK] [insert, funky 70s pseudo-porn music]
  21. How about an compressed-air vehicle?! http://www.ecogeek.org/content/view/659/
