  1. Good doc. Try "The Union" too if they have it.
  2. S w e e t Dominated that game and never gave up on the effort. They sure looked like a team bonding well. Big smiles and waves to crowd before leaving the ice. Felt a bit sorry for Ottawa's goalie. His team did sweet-fuck-all in front of him.
  3. http://bit.ly/aN84p1 The Orb Featuring David Gilmour – Metallic Spheres The Orb, the visionary UK ‘ambient/house’ collective, came to collaborate with David Gilmour after working together on a version of Graham Nash’s Chicago for a charity project. Youth (aka Martin Glover), a frequent Orb accomplice, was invited to create a remix, and he and Alex Paterson, as The Orb, were so energized by the task that they continued working until it was an album-length entity. Having asked Gilmour to bring his guitars to Youth’s studio in South London to prolong and enrich their new creation, the trio worked up a sonic mixture in a range of styles. Thus, the Metallic Spheres project was born. Metallic Spheres is designed to be heard in two parts – ‘Metallic Side’ (24’48″), and ‘Spheres Side’ (25’09″). Each track, or side, consists of five movements. The album uniquely utilizes David Gilmour’s electric guitar and lap steel guitar, Alex Paterson’s sound manipulation, keyboards and turntables, and Youth’s bass guitar and keyboards. Longtime Orb collaborator Simon Ghahary has created artwork, continuing and expanding on The Orb’s spatial art style. The Orb’s Alex Paterson says: “It’s a collision that’s been waiting to happen with Pink Floyd/David Gilmour and The Orb orbiting many of the same planetsâ€. The Orb, built around mainstay Alex Paterson, formed in London in 1989 during the birth of the rave movement. Initially founded on a mutual love of Brian Eno and German electronics, The Orb at present operate with a flexible line-up of collaborators that includes producer/multi-instrumentalist Youth, well-known for his work with Paul McCartney as The Fireman, as well as his production (Crowded House, Dido) and remixes (U2, Marilyn Manson). David Gilmour is the legendary singer, guitarist and songwriter with Pink Floyd, whose most recent solo album On An Island charted at No. 1 in the UK and Europe, and No.6 in the USA. http://www.metallicspheres.com/ mp3@320CBR Track List 01 – Metallic Side 28:41 02 – Spheres Side 20:12 http://bit.ly/aN84p1

    yayyyyyy God

Yup. Agreed. What is different is that you don't normally see non-religous/scientists spouting off on street corners or running TV shows to collect money from followers and promising eternal happiness after they die (but follow these rules while you're here or you won't). I think that a lot of the people that speak up against those that utilize their faith for greed/manipulation do so simply because nobody else does. For me, I think that it is something that should be a personal choice. The division of Church/State is important and needs to be maintained IMHO. Give thanks to your turkey this weekend. ^^^^^ I quite liked that one As for karma it is simply another nice way to explain how the unexplainable happens. Past lives? That opens up a whole other can o' worms. Again, interesting to fantasize about, but really? Another human construct to give us "understanding" of what essentially is balance. It's all about balance ... which is statistics of a form. Some people have a big streak of "bad luck" but is it really from a previous life or simply being on the wrong side of success in a 50/50 situation? On a very basic level, religion is simply a way to have an "answer" derived/interpreted from texts/elders that could otherwise be unexplained (until such time as humans are able to find logical reasoning). Just like Esau said earlier ... if it works for some people, FANTASTIC. But follow the rules in the Penis/Religion sign above

  8. I flipped over to the Edmonton game just in time to see Eberle's SH goal and the two others that were scored in less than 4 mins. Amazing.
  9. Shakey at times, but I'll take that for a Game 1 of the season Yes, have no fears, Parade Planning parties are in full swing. Yes, that's all people in Toronto ever do. Leafs did look a lot slower than the Habs tonight (except for Gill of course ) I liked the looks of Kessel when he got ice time. Impressed how he skated his ass off to get back and help after Phaneuf busted his stick on that point shot. Jiguere saved their asses on that last flurry in the final seconds!! And Price improved in the third. He's lucky that game was on the road with those first two goals Bring on the Senaturds for Saturday
  10. Too bad he didn't fight him. Instead he retaliated by using his stick twice. Not too bright. He can use his stick in much better ways. He IS a Jedi after all
  11. http://bit.ly/dwljhW John Mellencamp – No Better Than This In an age of auto-tuned, computerized recordings, John Mellencamp’s approach on his Rounder debut, No Better Than This, is refreshing. The entire album was recorded with Mellencamp and his band all playing live in one room using a 55 year-old Ampex tape recorder and just one vintage microphone. Legendary producer T Bone Burnett captured the stunning thirteen new Mellencamp originals at three historically important locations: Sun Studio in Memphis, TN (where Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis all first recorded); the First African Baptist Church in Savannah, GA (the oldest Black church in North America, dating to 1775); and in Room 414 of the Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, TX (where Robert Johnson made his first recordings in 1936). The songs on No Better Than This reflect classic American musical traditions including blues, folk, gospel, rockabilly, and country, while addressing such themes as the need for hope, the nature of relationships, and narratives that recount extraordinary occurrences in everyday life. mp3@320CBR Track List 01. 12. http://bit.ly/9qlImV The Marsalis Family – Music Redeems Recorded live June 15, 2009 at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, DC. On August 24, 2010, Marsalis Music and Redeye Distribution will release a rare, new album by New Orleans’ own, The Marsalis Family, recently honored by the National Endowment for the Arts with a 2011 Jazz Masters Award Fellowship. All proceeds from the project will go straight to programming support for the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music, an education center and heart of the New Orleans Musicians’ Village community, conceived in 2005 by Branford Marsalis and Harry Connick Jr. in partnership with New Orleans Habitat for Humanity following Hurricane Katrina. One of the most famous of New Orleans’ multigenerational jazz families, it is extraordinarily rare for the Marsalis clan to assemble all together in one place. However, approaching Father’s Day of last year, the family gathered at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., to honor its patriarch and the Duke Ellington Jazz Festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Ellis Marsalis. With sons Branford on saxophones, Wynton on trumpet, Delfeayo on trombone, Jason on drums, poet Ellis III reciting a piece written especially for his father for the occasion, and special guests Dr. Billy Taylor and family friend Harry Connick, Jr., Ellis inspired an evening of lively performances of repertoire with special meaning to the Marsalis Family, punctuated by family stories and anecdotes about growing up in New Orleans. The sold-out concert was a testament to Ellis’ talents as an educator, composer, and musician, and to the one-of-a-kind Marsalis family, who have made an indelible mark on the jazz tradition. Marsalis Music recorded this incredible concert and now listeners are invited to join this appreciation of a man who mentored so many of New Orleans’ finest musicians, and the celebration of family, heritage, and the spirit of the city that inspired them all. All proceeds from the sale of this new album, titled “Music Redeems,†will fund community and music education programming at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music, currently under construction at the center New Orleans Habitat Musicians’ Village. Since its inception, the Musicians’ Village has grown into a community of seventy-two single family homes and five elder living duplexes in the Upper Ninth Ward for residents of New Orleans who were displaced by the Hurricane Katrina. Construction of the Ellis Marsalis Music Center is scheduled to be completed in the late spring of 2011 and will offer the Musicians’ Village and its neighbors a place to study, perform, and record music with practice rooms, an after-school music program, recording spaces, a music library, and a performance hall. The Center will provide an environment for the great musicians and teachers of New Orleans to pass along their traditions to future generations, fostering an appreciation for the past and thus securing a commitment to the future of a unique culture which continues to sustain the city and its citizens in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. The motto of the Musicians’ Village and the title of the Marsalis Family album is “Music Redeems,†and despite the damage inflicted by the storm, the bedrock upon which the culture of New Orleans still lies is its music. At the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina devastation of New Orleans and its musician community, the release of this album from the Marsalis Family marks another building block in the road to rejuvenating the cultural bedrock of New Orleans. mp3@320CBR Track List 01 – Introducing (the Marsalis Family) 02 – Donna Lee 03 – Wynton and Branford Speak 04 – Monkey Puzzle 05 – After 06 – Syndrome 07 – Sweet Georgia Brown 08 – Harry Speaks 09 – Teo 10 – The Man and the Ocean 11 – At the House in Da Pocket 12 – The 2nd Line The Marsalis Family Ellis Marsalis, Piano Branford Marsalis, Saxophones Wynton Marsalis, Trumpet Ellis Marsalis III, Spoken Word Delfeayo Marsalis, Trombone Jason Marsalis, Drums, Vibes & Whistling Friends Harry Connick, Jr., Piano Eric Revis, Bass Herlin Riley, Drums http://bit.ly/9qlImV
