  1. What little shred of respect I had remaining for Perry Farrell is now gone, I only had any to begin with because Jerry said they were the best band to come along in a decade.

Funny, I remember him saying that - it was in a Rolling Stone interview, non?

  2. This is a current event. There were many warnings, not to mention it is all over the news. I myself, am in control of what I expose myself to, not jambands.

PS...you had to do an aweful lot of clicking to get to a video clip you didn't want to watch in the first place. Geesh.

    What she said.

  3. I've been advocating my own banishment for some time now. Nice to see that someone is finally supporting that position.

Gary, your dreams are my nightmares. Still, your stooopid, stooopid face needs to be seen in these parts... by which I mean Hamilton (the city), not MarcO's bag. Well, maybe there too, but you'd best take that up with the man himself. And Laurie might have some input, too.

  4. I think he said it was The Blue Oyster.

Wait, he may have been talking about the bar he and Hamilton are going to tonight.

Man, MarcO just has to let the cat out of the closet... err, ummm, bag, doesn't he? ;)

  5. Don't know if this was posted recently... if it was, I missed it, and offer sincerest apologies to all of you who will be, I know, deeply offended by my oversight.

    From www.jerrygarcia.com:

Until now, the recordings of Jerry Garcia's concerts as bandleader have been relatively scarce and of uneven sound quality, unlike those of Grateful Dead, whose live recordings circulate abundantly. The "Pure Jerry" series will be selected from the substantial and remarkably diverse library that makes up Jerry's entire independent live archive. "Theatre 1839" is the first installment in the series, and is only available from www.jerrygarciastore.com

As a special bonus, everyone that pre-orders will be automatically entered to win an original, framed poster from the show featured in this release.

Click here for more information on the contest.

This three-disc set was recorded July 29 & 30, 1977, at a small San Francisco music hall during a break in the Dead's touring. The lineup of the day included Keith and Donna Jean Godchaux, John Kahn and Ron Tutt. Running almost 2 1/2 hours, "Theatre 1839" features the 18 best performances captured from the two-night run. (Neither show was recorded in its entirety, reasons for which have been lost to time).

Make sure to choose the express shipping option to receive your CDs on June 8th.

Yeah, dude - I really feel sorry for ya! That must suck, to go out for beers during the middle of the workday. You're tuggin' at my heartstrings!! ;) ;)

  7. BTW, might deserve a separate post, but Derek Trucks Band are playing 6/26 Buffalo, NY WNED Guitar Festival - Layfayette Square Free Show - DTB @ 6 PM ::

It's worthwhile checking out the whole line-up for those free shows in Lafayette Square. I haven't seen this year's line-up, but in the past there have been some pretty good acts, both "jammy" and not.

Of course, one of the worst crowds/shows I ever encountered was there (moe., a few years back... I hope MarcO doesn't see this, as he'll have nightmares about it for at least a week if he does), but I also had the pleasure of seeing a fine MMW show there a few years before that, and I'm sure I've seen a bunch of others that I can't recall right now. Blue Rodeo has been there a few times, as has Bruce Cockburn.

  8. I've been on this board for a few years now and I have seen WAY more offensive pics posted to the board, without topic warnings, fetish style and other sexual debauchery, and it's the bare bum that gets the boot. Too much.

Why was there not more said about the hooker having the fecal bath...or the 500 pound guy shitting out his insides????

    Get a grip.

Actually, I know for a fact that both of those photos were removed... there were a *lot* of negative comments about the fecal bath...

  9. And bring on the fucking drugs and bombs and terrorism too! We all know there are no Muslims or other "high-risk groups" on Jambands.ca so we're probably in the clear from CSIS or whoever you think is conspiring to take us down for mentioning the unmentionables

Probably true, but I wouldn't take it for granted that this community isn't even on CSIS' or the RCMP's radar. I'm not a conspiracy theorist or anything, and I'm not living in fear (at least, not of this!), but I don't find it hard to believe that there could be some extremely low-level dude in one of those two organizations who lurks on boards like this and jamhub. We do make it pretty easy for them, should they ever have a desire to investigate closely.

  10. Technically, he's right - you *can't* impeach the Secretary of Defense. Doesn't mean that Bush can't *fire* him, though... which he has refused to do.

Still, you're right - everything *is* semantics with the Republicans... although I guess you could argue that everything, everywhere, is just semantics, if you were feeling particularly argumentative. Which I'm not (feeling argumentative, that is) currently... but I'm sure I'll pick a good fight with somebody, somewhere, before the weekend is over. Consider yourselves warned, all of you... it could come at any time!

  11. I know I've said this before, but the Yukon is one of the most beautiful places in Canada. If anyone is even considering heading up there, I would totally recommend it - and now you can see BNB while you're there, too!

Will we see your stupid self in Ontario anytime soon, little black dog?
