  1. I think that they are the U.S. version of the Stones.

    I certainly agree with that.

WOW! I do not. Aerosmith wakes daily and wishes they meant as much to music as the Stones.

    That being said:

Chip Away The Stone has a great vibe.

Walk This Way has an unmistakable cadence and in itself was groundbreaking.

And Sweet Emotion *the long version* is an A-one stoner classic and as Boogie said the perfect start to a perfect movie.

  2. Colbert is the man without fear! First, his speech at the National Press Dinner in front of the president is one of the great satire bits of all time. Now I can't wait for O'Reilly. Billy Boy is such an asshole and doesn't take to this too well. For a prime example, see if you can find his appearance on Letterman. Dave takes him to town and puts him in his arrogant place.

  3. Man o man o man I am pumped for this double dose of adios from Nero. Two night stands are rare for me these days but they were always one of my favorite parts of the scene.

I haven't been so excited for one since Phish in Cincinati in 2003 (which, by the way, was the finest post hiatus performances I saw them do)

    Any other favs out there?

  4. Thanks everyone for your concern and vibes. Diane was overwhelmed by the response.

The update is Diane has made a speedy recovery. Her memory is still spotty but I'm begining to suspect that she is blocking only the things she doesn't WANT to remember (what conversation about not going to Winners so much) She has had a mother bruise appear just in the last day or so. Deep bruising I guess. We officially heralded in the anger stage last night and

an urge to have everything go back to the way it was.

The awesome news is that we will be able attend Nero Weekend 100%. See many of you Friday!!!

  5. Macho Man vs. Ricky the Dragon Steamboat was another classic!! Macho Man off the top rope with the bell!

That's my fav for sure. I loved the intercontiental belt. My favorites were always there.

Remember when Saturday Night Main Event was the shit!! I used to tape it and watch it before church on Sundays.

  6. I mentioned in another thread about my "board spouse" which is a riff off the notion of "office spouse"

office spouse n. A co-worker with whom one has a very close but nonromantic relationship, bound by mutual respect, common interests and that particular chemistry of friendship

Board spouses would be someone who you seem to defend , flirt with, or even bicker like an old married couple with.

    So who's your board spouse?

Mine's the other half of team Scott, Guigsy. All y'all with crushs and man-crushes alike, step off.

    PS Real spouses don't count.

PPS I need a laugh today so for Gawd's sake make this entertaing.

  7. Hey folks,

Just a quick note to put out a request for some healing vibes for my girl, Diane. Some of you have met her and some think she is the Polkaroo.

Anyway, Wednesday she was hit while crossing the street by a driver trying to gun it on a left turn and thrown 15 feet! She is out of the hospital and resting at home. Miraculously, no broken bones, a huge goose egg and a slowly but surely returning memory. We are all very thankful.

Oh and here's the kicker, it was our 4 year anniversary (booooo!)

  8. So far....Sweet FA

I haven't been out of pyjamas all year (literally)

    2007 holds so far:

    Nero Ottawa

    Super Bowl Party

    Rheostatics Last Show

A Trip to England and France

My first summer in years away from the business in Grand Bend

The end of another school year (and beginning of the next)

    Trips to the cottage

    A concert or two

A new Kings of Leon album

The continuation of my new life long dedication to never smoking another cigarette

    A reduction in other smoking

An increase in reading and writing

Roughly about 500 posts here or so

    And much more

Looking good. Think I'll get dressed.

  9. Oh wow. The revisionist history thing is biting me in the ass here.

Turns out my first "post" was not the first topic I started but a response to AD's first post.

    In response to bouche

Alan, you old scallywag, it's me, Scottie. This is quite the odd co-inq-e-dink, I'm just throwing my name out here for the first time as well (well in this forum anyhow) Good to see your name in lights again. Email me.

As for the rest of y'all, hi diddly ho. I was convinced by the gang that came down to see me in London this week (r.monkey, giggles, beet) to get on the board. I, as well as Alan have been kickin around the scene for awhile. Good to see such an active community up and running. Anyway, be talkin to you soon.

I've been living a lie. I'm sorry. If the board calls for my resignation, they can have it.
