  1. Is it cheap to fly down to Tennessee? From Buffalo maybe?
  2. Ahhh yes yes. I thought for a sec that Terry Riley was coming to town.
  3. Where's that happening Velvet??
  4. Nice. I missed Doug's show (The Strung Tour w/ April Verch, Tony McManus) at the Lighthouse Theater in Port Dover back in november, even though I had a ticket (argh), so I hope I can make this one. Yeah Esau, this will be my first time seeing Doug Cox and I can't wait. Its being put on by Small World, a promoter who brings in all sorts of cool world music artists. I recently bought Cox & Bhatt's album "Slide To Freedom" and its very cool. VM Bhatt guests on several tracks, including "A Meeting By The Liver". lol. Also there's a new Cox & Sam Hurrie album out eh! Its available for purchase over the net. Doesn't look like its being released on a label per se, which is kinda surprising. I've been revisiting "Hungry Ghosts" a lot lately.
  5. Doesn't look like I'm going tonight, or else I'd let him konw.. Oh yeah btw I'm definitely NOT going to all of those shows. I would though if I had nothing else to do in life and if money was no object!
  6. That would be a great show.. I can't go though. 16-24 gone to Calgary
  7. 1. Themasses - Thrice (thanks boys!!) 2. nero - Breakline 3. David Ball (country artist) - everything he's ever done 4. Ian McKendry - Trailer Park Blues

Andre Ethier is playing at Supermarket at 9pm.. If you're looking for a destination! I bet it'll be an intimate affair on a night like this.

    thunder......

Over here they're saying its -2c and there's a thunderstorm with rain at Pearson. But the Winter storm warning doesn't mention a thunderstorm. I guess we'll get some rain that'll turn to snow in the next few hours. I've never heard thunder in the middle of a snowstorm before though!

    thunder......

I just heard it too.. Very strange. I wish there were windows in my basement apartment so I could see what's going on!

    Four Tet...

bummer how it works out like that eh? i am hoping bonobo is fun live. high hopes over here!
  14. WIcked! Mali is my latest infatuation and lately I'm really curious about the West African music scene. And I'm hoping to be in W.Africa come Fall!
  15. My thoughts are that tribute acts should not be at Bonnaroo. As for Serena Ryder, I could name several other acts of similar or bigger profile that could've taken her place. (SADIES!) Although its kinda cool to see a Peterboroughnian playing Bonnaroo. edit: Oh yeah, DSO.... ah well looks like I just became a hypocrite.

    Four Tet...

I am a fan of most of the stuff I've heard. Wonder how they do it live? (instrumentation, etc)
  17. My thoughts exactly. My thoughts exactly too! Man I haven't been to a big festival since... maybe Coventry, before that Big Cypress.
  18. Well I don't know about you guys but I think that line-up is kicking ass and I'd say that I might be making my first ever trip down to the 'Roo this year!!! Looks like logistically or at least time-wise it might work out for me personally to go, for the first time. None of the big headliners are doing anything for me but all of the following have me very aroused: ABB Bluegrass Allstars DSO Broken Social Scene Drive-By Truckers Ben Folds Gogol Bordello ***** LEVON HELM & THE RAMBLE ****** Israel Vibration Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings BB King Phil Lesh & Friends MMJ Willie Nelson Robert Plant & Alison Krauss Sigur Ros Swell Season Yonder Mountain String Band There's a 2nd tier of bands that don't hurt the lineup, and a third tier of bands I don't know, then a 4th of bands I don't want to see. Also: Serena Ryder at Bonaroo??? Anyone else surprised by that one?
  19. Ahhh damn, I was excited! And I told about 10 people sitting around me those dates! haha, oh well.
  20. I swear it was here an hour or two ago. What are the Toronto dates again?
  21. The tunes sound great! If you are indeed interested, have a look at the calendar at www.linuxcaffe.ca and PM me with a date you'd like to play. I'll then send you an email with further details. The calendar is fairly wide open so take your pick.
  22. The Slackers are coming back!! I've been looking forward to this announcement. Their two shows in Seoul last year were high energy and a lot of fun. April 11 Montreal @ Cafe Campus 12 Quebec @ Le Velvet 15 Guelph @ Vinyl 16 Toronto @ Lee's Palace 17 London @ Call The Office http://www.theslackers.com/
  23. I'd be curious to see all of those! Who is "In Griot Time" about?
