I'd like to make it to this one.. It is the night after Thee Big Night (The Spades @ Horseshoe & Bonobo @ Revival), but I will try to make it! Their last Toronto show, in Oct or Nov, was sold out.

I saw NMAS at a bar in King's Cross, London in 2001 called The Crossbar. In 1995 Liam Gallagher got kicked out of The Crossbar for headbutting a guy. The venue was about the size of the old La Luna or so and NMAS did 2 nights in a row. Good show as I recall, but I've never thought they were all they're cracked up to be. I would've been equally as excited to see Alvin play.

Try this GINGER INFUSION TEA recipe: 1/4 cup ginger, grated or chopped really fine 5 cups water --- bring the water to a boil, toss in the ginger and simmer on low for 30 min. -- strain through a fine strainer.. press on the ginger to get all the juice out add: 3 tbsp honey 1 tbsp lemon juice a pinch of cayenne (optional) mix it up and chug 'er back!! ANOTHER good thing to ingest is oil of oregano. It burns like hell but clears out a lot of bacteria. 5 drops into a glass of water, grin and bear it.

Sneaker Pimps are playing tonight at Circa in Toronto.. Fancy club, its all the rage dontcha know? Also DJ Premier in the main room.. Makes for a pretty sweet lineup if that's your bag! And if you go HERE and sign up before 4pm today, you get in for $10 reduced cover before Midnight.

I wish the tix I won were for the Thursday gig, as the kick ass Russian Futurists are opening! Palms, any opener for Wednesday night? Do you work at 102.1, or for Wintersleep?? Yeah Jeff, that was pretty bizarre! It took me a while before I was sure that was you. I dunno why, its not like there are too many others out there that look like you! ha.

Through 102.1 The Edge I just won tickets to see Wintersleep this Wednesday at The Rivoli. Woohoo! I think its a promo gig for 102.1, as it doesn't seem to be listed publicly anywhere as far as I can see. Has anyone seen them play lately? I saw them years ago at The Casbah, I think they were opening for Grand Theft Bus that time..

If I had to stare at paisley to win a prize I would definitely lose! lol you guys are crackin me up.

Daaamn I'm gonna (sorta) be near Nelson around then too! Well, Feb 16-24 I'm in Calgary. I'll probably have to hold off til March 1st though. Looks like I'm gonna miss a lot of this Nufunk Fest cuz of that trip so I'll be buying individual tickets. ps - Starhead, there's some good music at Tranzac tonight... Nick Rose w/ Good Rev on pedal steel, also Purple Hill (Jaimoe's been posting about it. Think about it!

I just finished watching WAR/DANCE . OH. MY. GOD. You have to see this film! It is incredibly moving, incredibly SAD at several point, but just amazing and inspiring. Its about a group of orphans living in war-torn northern Uganda who's school sends them to Kampala to participate in a music festival for all elementary schools across the country. The music and dancing is just amazing. Some of these kids' stories are the saddest stories I've ever heard in my life. Tissues recommended. Beautifully shot film too. Its won a lot of awards. I heard that the couple who made the film were living in the village that it is based in for a little over 2 years (working for AMREF), which is why the locals were so comfortable with them and allowed them to capture such intimate moments. Do you know the setlist from that night in Guelph Rev? I'd love to see it. Spades with Rev on the pedal steel!!! Can't wait! Will that be a headlining gig at the 'Shoe?

That's what I'm talkin about!! And re: Sun Sun's, man I miss that place.. Definitely worth the inevitable suffering that occurs the next morning.
