    Loose Fur

I like it too, though I much prefer the first Loose Fur album. Its self-titled. Check it out if you haven't already. Jim O'Rourke is a madman.
  2. Ahh, nice. I plan on seeing you there Brad! Glad you enjoyed the show Guigs. Was that your first time?
  3. I'm enjoying that new song Dr. J! Thanks for posting. Can't wait to see The Spades once again in December or in the New Year. ANy ideas yet what they're up to for NYE?
  4. The new Apostle of Hustle album is now finished, more upbeat than Folkloric Feel, and will be released around February or March. Scha-WING!
  5. Good article Luke. I'm glad it wasn't too much longer though. Theres much to be said for an article that gets to the point, and if it was too long you'd probably lose a lot of the readers who don't necessarily have any interest in nero or Dave. Very nicely articulation of the jamband struggle for recognition. The title doesn't have "After Nero" in it.
  6. Damn.. Well, I'll look forward to all the glowing reviews.
  7. PHISH 10-19-96 Marine Midland Arena, Buffalo, NY 1: My Friend My Friend, Rift, Free, Esther, Llama, Gumbo, Down With Disease, Prince Caspian, Frankenstein 2: AC/DC Bag, Sparkle, Slave to the Traffic Light, Bouncing Around the Room, Split Open and Melt, Fluffhead, Swept Away-> Steep, Run Like An Antelope, Hello My Baby E: Fee, Rocky Top My first show... 10 years ago TODAY! I can't believe its been a freakin' decade. What a magical night it was. The zoomers kicked in just as Slave started and after that the rest is history.
  8. Ahhhh I was hoping this wouldn't happen -- I'm just missing the Ontario tour. I'm coming home on December 14th... UNLESS that show on the 16th happens in Southern Ontario somewhere. Fingers are crossed!!
  9. I'd say they are possibly worth peeing your pants over.

    Petunia

I enjoyed seeing Petunia whenever he came around in Peterborough when I was there. Old Man Luedecke used to come around too. One reason I love Peterborough is for its infatuation with that old time music.
  11. ! Can we be Children of New Years Eve in Toronto?
  12. Twas indeed a pleasant moon.. I did it up right, at Haad Rin Beach on Ko Phangnan! Nice place. Well, it was nice... Today its covered in trash.
  13. Mmmmmmm!! That's a good 'un! Nice purchase Birdy! That album may be on my Top 10 ever, its so good. I haven't heard the new one yet but I look forward to it.. And I'm jealous of all you who saw YLT this week!

Good on ya AD! Eat some arctic char eyeballs for me.
  15. Nice! Have you read any of Murakami's other books? After reading those short stories I'm looking forward to checking out some more soon. I'll look for some of those Sedaris books too.
  16. I just finished reading 'After The Quake' by Haruki Murakami, a book of - short stories. It was awesome, you should read it.
  17. I'm hoping to see Kid Koala this Friday in Paris!
  18. Ive had very little to no exposure and I cant pretend to understand it at all really, but i just saw some clips from that new documentary and man does it look messed up! a must-see. My immediate reaction is that these poor kids are heavily indoctrinated well before they have the chance or ability to make their own decisions.
  19. Have they had any luck yet finding a label to release the new album?
  20. From the news section on Harry's site: Sept 1: Fresh from recording a CD with Kevin Breit in Toronto for Stony Plain Records (to be released next year), Harry sends greetings from Yosemite, California. The Strawberry Festival kicks off a one month West Coast tour, which will include the Sisters Folk Festival in Oregon, the Freight & Salvage and Biscuits & Blues in the Bay area, the Tractor Tavern, and Mississippi Studios. Nice!
  21. Jerry Douglas & Vishna Mohan Bhatt - Bourbon & Rosewater (thanks Greg) Jim O'Rourke - Bad Timing Cold War Kids - Up In Rags (thanks GM, i think?) Loose Fur - Loose Fur Iron & Wine / Calexico - In The Reins
  22. My loudest show was probably Big Sugar at the arena in Baysville in Summer 97.. It was incredible! The other one that comes to mind is Mono (a loud experimetal rock band from Japan) in Seoul about 6 months ago. Also Tijuana Bibles in the Blue Room in Peterborough a few years ago.
