I'd like to ask a supplemental question: if there were a jammish show happening (say, at Mavericks) the next night, Saturday, April 1, would there be enough residual energy in Friday night's attendees to make a show worthwhile? Would out-of-towners stick around for it?

Another Record Runner memory - in 1991 I went there and asked if they had any "Phish" - the dude directed me to the Marillion section.

They can be forgiven for that though!

One of the greats - he pretty much single-handedly won Stanley Cups for the Oilers in '90 and the Rangers in '94. (Too bad he couldn't do it with the Canucks!) His Lays potato chip commercials were pretty good too.

I've driven on the Seven-Mile-Bridge and I saw the old bridge that the article refers too... it's not much of a bridge at all, and the Cubans landed on pilings which are basically posts sticking out of the water. Technically they didn't reach dry land. The floatingcubans website is hilarious!

One of the other interesting arrangements I heard about was the one the band Triumph had. The band was a trio, and the band agreed that each member got an equal (1/3) share, unless/until a member left, at which point that member's share dropped to one ninth, with the other two members splitting the rest (4/9 each, presumably).
