Howdy.
I just pulled some pits for this show, so I'm selling my pair of 300s. Face was a little less than a hundred bucks. PM a brother with an offer. No credit? No problem!

Um...bump?

I'm inclined to agree with Booche. As long as tickets are available online, the scalpers will always be one step ahead. It's nice to see this getting some attention, but I don't see how anything can change.

I got lucky calling Tom Petty for Bluesfest this year.
As my fortune cookie once said, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

You can't turn off this kind of genius.

how the hell did you stumble upon that?!?
in any case, yes Hudson looks phenomenal
It's just a heading on their website, which I found odd. I guess this way they can't have promoters saying "Well I never got it."

There's a new (super)group called "Hudson" (drummer Jack DeJohnette, bassist Larry Grenadier, keyboardist John Medeski and guitarist John Scofield)
https://www.jambase.com/article/hudson-supergroup-announces-2017-tour-dates
They're playing in Saratoga Springs, NY on June 25; Toronto, ON on June 29; and Montreal, QC on June 30. I hope they'll be in Ottawa, maybe between Saratoga and Toronto.
Aloha,
Brad
Beat me to it. I read about these guys for the first time today and noticed a Jazzfest-sized hole in their schedule. Fingers crossed.
Related: for people who are interested in this kind of thing (I certainly am) their rider is publicly available on their website. Nothing too crazy, but I was surprised to see that Medeski doesn't travel with any of his own keyboards (at least not for this group) and DeJohnette only travels with his own cymbals. You can download the whole thing here: http://www.imnworld.com/artists/detail/360/Hudson-DeJohnette-Scofield-Medeski-Grenadier#Riders

So great! Love the "future of rock and roll" quote at the end.

I just learned that Colin Cripps joined Blue Rodeo a few years ago, on account of Keelor not being able to play electric anymore due to ear issues. I'd be interested to see them with him in the mix, as I've enjoyed pretty much everything I've ever heard him do (even before I knew it was him doing it).

Rather than dump all of the studio and live albums on fans at once, the band will be re-releasing them as their own 50-year anniversaries come up.
Kind of a cool idea. I guess that makes this a 20+ year undertaking. It will be interesting to see how the format of the re-releases evolves, as I can't imagine that it will stay static just for the sake of consistency over the life of the project.

Personally this lineup does nothing for me. But I'm sure tens of thousands of people will have a hell of a time, so good on them. I went in '03 and '04 and enjoyed it, but I don't see myself making the trek back anytime soon.

Much love and merriment, ya filthy wooks.

Too long; didn't watch.

I almost went to Irene's to see this show tomorrow night, which would have made me really, really early. Even by BradM standards.

That was the single greatest thing I read on the webs yesterday. It really, really helped.
Thanks, pal. I'm glad it resonated.

This is what I said on Facebook last night. It's all I got:
Let us not forget this: each of us can still choose to embody love, hope, tolerance, and compassion. And nobody has ever needed the president's permission to reach out to someone in need. All those things we tried to do to make the world a little better yesterday we can still do tomorrow, albeit through clouds of disappointment and uncertainty.
Much love, my friends. Let's keep on keepin' on.

Nice!

Right on! This came out when I was deep into the scene out East. Plenty of familiar faces. And also the origin of "wook #17," which I heard Greg felt terrible about.

So great, and undeniably well deserved.
