  1. My personal favourite of the moment:
  2. New theme: Home is where the bands are: Music you love from the town where you currently live. (state the place too) 1. The Wooden Stars - Country Violins (Ottawa) 2. Where's Veronica - Doorf*cker (Nanaimo) 3. Noises from the Toolshed - Half Moon Bay (Victoria) 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12.
  3. I feel as though any reference to Billy Corgan's new touring band should be listed as "Smashing Pumpkins" in quotation marks. The Pumpkins were always his band, but I think he's being pretty liberal with his use of that name given that James and D'Arcy aren't a part of things this time around. That said, it looks like a pretty wicked day of music.
  4. Nope, BT doesn't count for Ontario, but you should re-post to include Paisley's submission.
  5. Saw this gem today in Monday Magazine, Victoria's weekly alternative, when some of us were killing time at school. Huge points for randomness. Anyone have any idea what an adventure in advertising might entail?
  6. Yeah, it's definitely Vermont, though I hear Burlington, Ontario can be lovely in the Fall.
  7. Would a song that has nothing to do with my roots' date=' but for which there's a video that does have something to do with my roots, be too broad an interpretation? Aloha, Brad[/quote'] This is a pretty personal theme, so it's your call. If the video has given the song a meaning to you that reflects your roots, then by all means include it. (Unless, of course, the video is for "Check the O.R.", in which case Tom Green's Senators hat does not make the song about Ottawa).
  8. I might be bursting a bubble here, but I'm pretty sure the Burlington mentioned is the one in Vermont. The reference to the "square in the center of town" is clearly about the one in Vermont, and bluestraveler.net also states that it's a Vermont reference. And while this is not a tune that BT has ever played live in its entirety, they've played teases of it when in Burlington, VT, leading me to further believe it's about the American city. Sorry brah. (Though I've definitely been wrong before).
  9. Word up. I've been planning on hitting this up since the 1/27 show, and have rustled up a bit of a thirsty crew. Anybody else swinging by?

  16. Facebook is freakin' strange. It's like a crazy social flashback every day. Funny to reconnect with certain people, others not so much. Great for wasting time, though.
  17. I thought it was a pretty wicked couple of hours, even if everything about it was completely and utterly gratuitous.
  18. Congratulations to the new mother-in-law!
