  1. I think Oleg is going to fit in just fine with the Sens. His goals all come from 15' of the Net, and alot of his highlights he scored either from the ice or ended up on the ice. 2nd leading scorer in Phoenix to Shane Doan, but played on a weaker line with guys like Laraque, and was also the only significant +/- player on the team at +8. I think everyone was getting boners for the obvious players that had all the rumours, but just cause this guys name wasn't hung up to dry for weeks to see, doesn't mean it wasn't a great pick up. Considering how little sellers there were, and what prices they were going for, I think the Sens made a schrewd move for today, and a good move for the future. He's got better stats than Roberts, an equal +/- and 10 less points than 1st liner Bill Guerin, and is a +24 compared to Zubrus... and obtained at a small fraction of the price. In the salary cap era, it's hard to ignore the value added, and not removed from a trade like this. He also could of arguable been Phoenix's addition to the All-star game instead of Yanic Perrault. Oleg has better stats there too. I'm not saying that he's the second coming, but considering that all these players came from the worst of the worst teams, the trade deadlines ultimate impact this year is much-ado-about nothing. Welcome #61

  3. I think it is... wasn't that where Neil spent his really young years and got sick at all that. Omemee sounds right. Oh, and "down by the River" is about Blind River, and the baby he shot was his hearse.

  5. Fack, ask me in the 1st or 2nd who was the better team. All Carolina. Then bam, they fold, and Ottawa walks away with it. Nice. Hopefully we'll do much better with the last change at home tomorrow. Heatley played a huge chunk of the 3rd, and the chaos that it caused Carolina's line matching was fantastic for the Sens. I haven't said it yet, so FTR: Dany Heatley, far and away, has been the MVP for this team this year. The guy is a force. Heatley for Hossa is no-contest at this point. The proof of the pudding is of course the playoffs... I'll enjoy seeing Heatley's 2nd take at them, and what it means to this franchise. That is if we get there. Though the crabbucket we've left in our wake should help.

  7. Maybe you should just pick a conference to cheer for and start from there.
  8. OMG. You probably have seen me in those lectures. I was a loud mouth. If they're still showing them, I must of said something worth repeating... or more likely, it's the one that they actually got on tape that makes the most sense, especailly when compared to the subsequent years of lectures/creeping alzhimers of Prof. Marlin. Sorry for the hijack, now back to your regularly scheduled Leaf love.
  9. All Aboard! Songs about trains: 1. Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young - Marakesh Express 2. Bruce Springsteen - Downbound Train 3. The Yardbirds - Train Kept A Rollin 4. Ryan Adams and the Cardinals - Trains 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12.
  10. Is Marlin still teaching that? Man that guy could lose a train of thought. Lectures... a little bit painful. Carleton... Where the K is for Kwality!
  11. Me too! It was kind of a good read. Explains why you see coke and mcdonalds ads everywhere. I find that comforting.
  12. I thought it was pretty funny when this guy: Beat Up This Guy:
  13. Boyes played like poop most of the season, he's only played well during Bostons recent streak. Perhaps Wideman is a player the new Boston GM can work with... kind of like Sapryikin with Muckler, if he can learn to play defence, which the Sens are apparantley good at teaching, it'll look pretty sweet for a 3rd rounder... especially since that 3rd rounder hasn't put up 30pts in an NHL season (with 20 games left to play). Without committing to specifics, you've managed to call me out... who is your favourite team exactly Jaimoe?
  14. . You are a sir and a gentleman QQC. And Quicker.
  15. Maybe this list will make a viable alternative list of commandments.
  16. On what level? Nothing suprises me much anymore.
  17. Excellent. There will be no convincing me that propaghanda doesn't work now.
  18. Hey man... it's been a tough month. We had our thing with the Home and home... things like this are bound to happen over the course of the season. No hard feelings. We just got outta a home and home with Buffalo, where things went equally, if not more insane, and at an international level. It's been an experience... which only means I got more to learn! Still, I hope I/we've learned enough to be on the winning end of a conference/league final this year... should be fun!
  19. Short Term Winners: Toronto, Isles Long Term Winners: Ottawa... cause they acutally got something Do Nothing award: Montreal (That's right... Mark Leighton doesn't count for anything) - So... does that mean you fold? Should be fun watching you guys kill each other for the 8th spot...... fingers crossed the Sens don't implode over the next month. C'mon 8 wins!
  20. Something for nothing, something for the future (x2), something for depth (who's actaully played in a stanley cup final), and they already have a wicked fucking playoff team... (this years' team, and not historically speaking you trolls!) I hope Muckler doesn't get fired soon. We'll just have to agree to see the same thing from a different point of view. FBN. Go Sens!
  21. Happy Birthday Lazlo. Are you as impressed as I am by Willys' Arrows!?
