  1. so, what was he ... uh ... doing ... in these pics with people he doesn't know?
  2. that seat is made for bouncin'
  3. thanks. that's how I understood it as well, and figured these CDs were pretty much sold to pay for gas money on tour. yeah, it's pretty sad. on the bigger picture of what is happening ... i get the frustration, but i just don't get the whole looting / random vandalism thing. of course, i have 12" dick, so i guess i dont feel a need to compensate by setting fires or smashing storefronts.
  4. but they sold so much beer they ran out, according to one of the organizers. woohoo. sigh. i think these idiots may have just killed a really good festival by convincing themselves that it had to be bigger. the next two days will tell but this sure seems not to be a convenient, chill, family and friendly event now. there were tweets that people sat in traffic for two hours last night only to arrive and be told it was closed due to full capacity. so naturally, they tore down fences and tents. what did you see on your way out, Low Rider?
  5. mmmmmm, tasty interview with the perry right now. rockin' the boxee.
  6. i need to clarify my post here ... i objected to the originally uncontextualized statement that "nobody looks good fighting cancer". first off, that's simply not true. many people fight cancer with no outward signs whatsoever. but more importantly, the last thing that anyone fighting cancer needs is to be told that they look like shit or have people just assume that they do. of course chemo, radiation and surgery can have a major impact on appearance but so what? that is why i thought it was an incredibly ignorant and insensitive thing to say, regardless of whatever subsequently provided justification for it.

  8. yeah, it's a contest of who has lost more family members to cancer. well guess what asshole, two can play that morbid game and I would rather not share my own personal horror stories with you. my point was that it is stupid to say what you did, whether it is true or not. of course fighting cancer takes a physical toll. duh. but why do you need to focus on that? do you have any sensitivity to those fighting cancer that you do not understand what a mean comment it is to say "you dont look good fighting cancer". asshole.
  9. i hear ya, but i think you are indeed unfairly whining. i dont wanna get all polly pissy pants on ya, but nobody prevented you from going pee. there are all sorts of reasons why toilets are no longer inside the tent areas, not the least of which are smell and truck accessibility for constant cleaning. and nobody prevented you from seeing the bands you paid to see. you just had to get your act together and get there early enough to beat the other thousand people who wanted to see the band they also paid to see. again, not wishing to pick a fight, but given all of the stuff that they have packed onto a very small island, i would say they have already done a fantastic job of working that stuff out. in fact, as someone who has been to many hillsides, I thought that this year's site was very well laid out ...
  10. [color:purple]whaaaaaa ... I drank a lot and had to pee ... whaaaaa ... other people got into the tent, not me ... whaaaa ..... the sausages were too salty .... whaaaa .... my feet hurt .... whaaaaa .... the music was too loud .... whaaaa .... my stash got wet when i went for a swim .... whaaaaa .... they put my fried tofu and avocado sammich on a purple plate .... whaaaaa .... there were too many kids running around .... whaaaa .... there werent enough kids running around .... whaaaaa .... my feet still hurt .... whaaaa ..... :drinks:
  11. No, I didn't. I just heard about it a little while afterwards. Poor little guy.
  12. Is Desmond the kid who learned about centrifugal force? ... the hard way. Glad to hear is OK.
  13. yes, thanks. some beautiful lyrics in that.
  14. what are you looking to do then? change the behaviour of the trouble makers? get the complainers to relax? of course patrolling does not 'solve' any root problem, but short of turning your city into Stepford, what possibly could?
  15. good. elemeno is rachel. ok, who else?
  16. ok, so lets all dress like the cast of glee, so we shall recognize each other. i shall be the big chick with glasses.
  17. my nipples are starting to get perky ... one more sleep! ...
  18. then offer it up to the right-wing christians for midnight prayer service. nothing puts a downer on teen parties in the park better than jesus.
  19. There is a HUGE debate going on about skateparks in Guelph right now. They had one a couple of years ago but it was shut down because of after-hours problems and the fact that it was situated right behind houses. Where the park is actually located seems to have the greatest impact on people with respect to almost every issue, including anti-social behaviour ... but that's a moot point in your case, Hal, it is where it is. My understanding is that once a park exists, the only two factors that seem to discourage anti-social behaviour are lighting and regular patrols by police. That said though, if the park is already located near houses, all-nite lighting becomes problematic because neighbours dont want to be lit, so police patrols are essentially the only deterrent. And that ain't exactly cost effective. also, this website was referenced by a few people ... seems to be the most informative site re: design and impact.
