  1. hey all, i still have this pair of tix available. they were $62US, but I'd be happy with $60Cdn or whatever. im based in hamilton/guelph so shoot me a message if you are interested. thanks.
  2. Restaurant backs off, staff keep 20¢ raise "A popular Toronto restaurant has backed down after trying to claw back most of the extra 20 cents an hour it has to pay its minimum-wage waiters. Joe Badali's, on Front St. at University Ave., told servers it would start charging them $2 a shift to cover the costs of washing their aprons and providing notepads and cash envelopes." ... some more fuel for the fire
  3. we have neighbours like this too. it baffles me why they have dogs at all. they never walk them. they leave their back patio doors open and their two little yappy dogs are free to wander in and out, barking at every kid, dog, squirrel and rabbit that wanders by. the people even go away overnight too. (god knows what their heating and carpet cleaning bills are.) i finally had enough one morning back in the summer and I called them at 6am after 15 min of neighbourhood-waking barking. rather than apologizing she started in on me about the chickens in my yard. needless to say, I dont have any chickens, she had me confused with another neighbour who had obviously had words with her previously. if you want a kleenex box, buy a kleenex box not two yappy dogs. stupid fuckwads, indeed. poor dogs.
  4. unlike IE6, you can actually uninstall IE7. but it doesnt remove IE from your computer, it just reverts back to a (supposedly) clean copy of IE6. i tend to use firefox and netscape, but netscape has been crashing on me a lot lately, especially on the globeandmail.com site, for some odd reason.
  5. ok, so we've been treated to a number of examples of astonishingly rude behaviour (always by others, of course), but here's my question ... What do you do when people piss you off? Do you somehow let them know that they have pissed you off? Personally, i keep a loaded glock in my glove box. You?
  6. stupid Canadians, all ooot and aboot with their extra U's everywhere too.
  7. and people who say "substidy", "interpretated", and "nukular" (although, technically, the last is a legitimate variation, generally reserved for the scientific community).
  8. i dont think anyone who actually enjoyed these would be offended, or think less of google, and nobody would have ever stumbled upon them. the company's decision to stop it seems odd. i dont buy the "cant have our image tarnished" excuse.
  9. sometime back in the mid-90s, i went to see the band Consolidated at the Bullring at UGuelph. they played a vivisection film. (post-show hotdog sales plummeted) THE spoonman opened. ah, those were the days.
  10. i have a pair and I cant go. get at me if you are interested. ps, sorry, i already posted this in another thread.
  11. im sitting on a pair of tix and cant go. sucks royally, 'cause im really diggin the new cd. anyone looking? feb 7th, tho', right?
  12. I do that, but subconsciously. It's an instinct from my soccer days: play the man, not the ball. It happens often, and usually it ends with a chuckle, a knowing glance, a soft embrace, and then a room-by-the-hour.
  13. sounds like Georgetown. Soccer mom on her cellphone in a mini-van, right? yeah, i know her too.
  14. add to that those able-bodied people who take the elevator down one floor. i get severely frustrated with drivers that scoot ahead of cars waiting in the off-ramp lane, and dangerously force their way in at the last second. bonus points to the ones that do it when its icy.
  15. hey, we are actually talking about the issues here, so whether ya have respect for PETA or its spokespeople, they have been successful.
  16. i love my dog. she eats at the table with us. her manners are impeccable. (although, not having opposable thumbs makes red wine glasses an adventure.) ... and I love my cats too, but at 5am, when its "feeeeeeeeeed meeeeeeeeee" time, i sometimes think cats should be outlawed. all this talk about ethics makes me wanna kill and eat something!
  17. turned out? oh, im sure there's more twists and turns to come. now, lets get back to a good recipe for cookin' up neighbourhood street kids for my rottie.
  18. but, you can still feed them to your dog, right?
