  1. hey alot of really great bands play in Paris. I think Rick Emmet is playing at the fair this year..
  2. you know the whole spiked drink thing can go more then one way, the other night we were partying at the bar and we didnt have any drugs left, well my buddys wife says "oh my god I think that dude over there just put something in my drink, do something", so I'm like, "well if your worried about it, I guess I could drink it!"
  3. that reminds me, I still owe marshas dad a case of lucky
  4. come on Mo! whats a hundred bucks? i'm planning on blowing twice that on booze and gambling this sat.
  5. that Sunshine girl told me she likes it when I wear my glasses
  6. i think the status quo in Canada is pretty great actually. sure I disagree with a few policy items (drug penaltes, afghanistan) but on the whole I thnk we live in an amazing, free, tolerant, demoratic society, and the thing that wil enable us (our government) to continue providing all the increadable services it does is wealth. so I go where the money is....show me the money.
  7. I believe there is a much wider poitical gap between the Republicans and Democrats then exists between our two major parties (at least socially) In Canada there is not such a gap, Conservative or Liberal doesnt really affect the social fabric too much. both parties are fairly central on the spectrum....maybe that contributes to voter apathy? the notion that we will remain a fairly socially 'liberal' society regardless... I believe that to be the case, so I cast my vote in favor of the party who I think can provide the most responsible fiscal policy, therefor I voted for Harper... also Dion seemed like a douche bag
  8. that is fu@kin awesome man you must be on cloud 9
  9. COOL EDIT Pro is now ADOBE AUDITION and its on the net for free - I think Doug got it through bit torrent? not really sure what that even means but thats where he got it...for free its awesome I have Pro Tools but sometimes prefer audobe for simple tasks
  10. anyone who missed out on this great night or wants to see an encore show, can come down to port dover tonight at the lighthouse theatre....show starts at 8!
  11. signal chain is the thing....from source to 'tape' - whats your path? whats your weak link? it starts with the musician, then flows through the mike, then through the preamp/channel strip then to the A/D convertor and finally to the capture device. (outboard effects like compression/ limiting need to be squeezed in there too sometimes) Presonus is a pretty good name, so your A/D conversion is probably OK...maybe your next move should be a couple of decent mikes..for vocal work you need a good large diaphram condenser...a couple of small diaphram condensers for accoustic instruments and overheads...after your mike collection is in order a good tube preamp might be a consideration for warming up your signal before commiting it to the digital world...i'm just starting to scratch the surface myself, and believe me it can be an expensiv hobby, back to my first point, decide what the weakest link in your signal chain is, and attack that first
  12. ya this guy has history! he's played and recorded with all kinds of heavyweights, Dylan, Garth Hudson, Levon Helm, the whole Big Pink crowd. pretty neat stuff...
  13. "Yet another example of why Fake Bobby is vastly superior..." its funny how good fake bobby is. way better then fake Jerry, kinda like the opposite of the real Bobby and Jerry... its like a mirror image diametrical universe sort of thing with DSO. love 'em
