  1. Just finished watching the leaked workprint... 7/10 More of a story for fanboys than the general public...Kind of predictable... Cinematography is so-so... It's an okay popcorn movie but not as well made or thought out as the 3 Xmen movies...
  2. it seemed like a funnier idea at Tigger's birthday party than it does now...oh well...
  3. You guys aren't running that trailer all night on the video screen over top of the band like you did at the herbaliser show are you?....because that was really irritating...
  4. Fantastic show...eight member band with five or six rotating vocalists from all over the world...kind of reminded me of a modern version of an ike turner soul review... I don't think the ticket price was too much, given the number of people they're bringing on the road (and the number of speakers too)... Don't go see them if you feel that a group needs someone on a drum kit in order to be a real band...
  5. For a sec, from the title of this thread, I thought Neil Young was doing a sequel to Trans...
  6. My name is Chris Beynon and I worked with a guy named Pat Fraser from Wakefield, Quebec on the Ottawa Notre Dame Cathedral restoration project in 1999... I need to get in contact with him as soon as possible because a mutual friend who we both worked with has passed away... My home # in Kitchener is 519.579.7792...If you could either give me his # or pass mine on to him, it would be greatly appreciated... He's a somewhat stubby little fellow who used to frequent the Black Sheep quite regularly and who was active in the local jamband community...
  7. I believe Mr. Tonin is making prints of this poster and the diesel dog/fat cats feb. 28th poster as well...I imagine they're going to be in limited supply so say nice things to him and maybe he'll hook you up...
  8. Are you guys talking about the Black Sheep in Wakefield?...I LOVE that place...Haven't been there in 9 years...Glad to see it's still going strong (and avoiding the language police)...
  9. Winamp is great for two way transfers between your ipod and your computer...
  10. You can DL a FLAC version of their live show from Rothbury on STMusic if you're interested in what their current incarnation sounds like live...
  11. in no particular order: Xavier Rudd: Dark Shades of Blue Thievery Corporation: Radio Retaliation Spearhead: All Rebel Rockers TV on the Radio: Dear Science Souljazz Orchestra: Manifesto Saul Williams: the Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust (CD version) The Herbaliser: Same As It Never Was Everlast: Love, War and the Ghost of Whitey Ford Tricky: Knowle West Boy (good album...the live show: not so much...) Erykah Badu: New Amerykah (part 1)
  12. Just bought the tickets... They're part of Katherine's Christmas present (along with Femi Kuti tickets) so no one who knows us had better spill the beans!!!
  13. Just answered my own question... Checked out some pics on their facebook group and they're touring with at least a 7pc. band... Should be good...
  14. I was wondering the same thing... At almost fifty bucks a ticket, it would be a bit pricey for a DJ set...
  15. http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2008/11/18/herbaliser/
  16. The sound was way better in Hamilton than Toronto... You could actually HEAR the flute when it's the featured instrument and the vocals were far less muddy... Perhaps the band had such a good set because they were inspired by the Christmas Parade earlier in the day...
