  1. These guys are hyped to be an incredible live band. The keys player is also playing in another Montreal band just starting up called "First You Get the Sugar", with some other very talented musicians
  2. Can't wait to see the VP boys again, and stoked to finally get to see Kae Sun. Boooooooooooooooch.
  3. The passes aren't too pricey either (soo happy I'm still a student)! Looking forward to this and Bluesfest like you wouldn't believe!
  4. Agreed...great review. Sam Kinninger was INCREDIBLE! Sick version of Soulive's 1 in 7 on top of his other stuff. His band is also incredible. Bisco was nuts, and really got the crowd amped up for Moe. The first night of Moe. was good, but not great. The second night was quite possibly the best Moe. show I've ever seen (after seeing 10+). Wind It Up had me smiling and hugging the people all around me, and Al's Bisco-esque solo in the Road was just insane (with the fastest strobe light going I've ever seen). All-in-all the best weekend I've had in a very long time!
  5. how does it work? you buy one pass which gets you into everything? or per show?
  6. What's the deal with volunteering for the fest? I'd love to catch as many shows as I can, but I still have to work most days...
  7. Even your heavily edited version was incredibly well written...great job!
  8. I too have many invites...would be happy to share pm me
  9. After living in Montreal for five years and reading T'cha Dunlevy's reviews frequently, he is usually pretty bang on. And he DOES in fact review a lot of lesser known gigs and certainly gives props only when props are due.
  10. Yo Butters, I'm heading down from Ottawa to check it out....probably won't leave till the friday, but I'm ridiculously stoked for it.
  11. you need one? let me know (i'll need you email address)
  12. If you have not seen these guys, you have no idea what you are missing. One of the most energetic, and musically talented bands out there. Screw the rain, come out and support great tunes!

    U Melt ?

Quite frankly, I think U-melt is one of the up-and-coming bands in the scene. At Coventry (before they were well known), they were set up in the middle of the tents and played from about 2-5 am, 2 nights in a row. If you check out their myspace page, they have a video of them playing schizophrenia, which has some crazy wonky time signatures, as well as an infectious groove. It would be pretty hard not to get up and dance if you see them live. They're playing late night shows in Albany after the Trey show (on the 29th or 30th), and again in NYC on NYE at 1 or 2 am. I'm pretty sure they haven't gotten up to Canada yet, but they are definately worth checking out.

    Ecstasy?

Quite frankly, I don't think you can talk about big doses until you're on par with this guy... http://www.guardian.co.uk/drugs/Story/0,,1746333,00.html?gusrc=rss
  15. It seems to me that this isn't really something to complain about but simply to enjoy the fact that you don't have to fight for one.
  16. I have a few invites as well if anyone is looking. As long as you abide by the rules, anyone is welcome to em.
