  1. I might hang a poster on my cubicle: Free-Hugs-On-Friday

btw....I frickin' loved the energetic hugs in that video. The run&hug and the skate-into-a-hug...fantastic. Myself, I prefer to deliver the grab&laugh-hug followed up with the gentle face squeeze

  2. I had a wart on my thumb when I was 12.

I got in a fight with my sister...she attempted to slam the door in my face, but my thumb got in the way...that wart went flying. That bitch bled like no other.

I've also had a couple of blue nevises (sp?) removed...the first of which had to be bore out of my leg...he kept cutting and scooping, and cutting and scooping...ick.

but no, no moles falling off this girl. yet.

    ::crosses fingers::

  3. I really want to try the oxtail stock, but I'm becoming a regular at Pho Bo Ga on Bank (between Somerset and Cooper). I start my work day at my Cooper office, work until lunchtime, go across the street for take-out and then gleefully prance up Bank St, Pho Ga in hand (except the day they gave me the shrimp bowl by accident), to my Laurier office where I eat my soap making mm-mmm-numm sounds followed by ahhhh's.

  4. I tried to make my own hollandaise sauce...big mistake! But really I think that adding salt during the process was the big mistake. I'll try it again, without the salt...until the end.

I absolutely looovvve breakfast...for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. That Greek restaurant on Prince of Whales at Baseline is good, but I really prefer making my own. Eggs Benny with bacon-bacon (ie: not back bacon...although that's still nice), Lynnie's homefries, and a fruit salad.

Ok, so favorite greasy breakfast....McD's saucy muffin

    2 tbsp fresh basil

    - Pot: soak noodles in hot water

    - Skillet: chicken, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes

    - drain noodles

    - Noodles + soup + cilantro, onion, basil = YUM!

*I made this a few times, each time adjusting the recipe to suite my craving. I would love to try this with homemade broth...

  6. by popular demand! Soooo warming for the cold months ahead. It only takes about 20 mins to prepare, and it cooks long enough that you can set it before work and come home to a tasty, prepared meal!

    Ingredients:

    3 carrots, sliced thick

    3 potatoes, cubed

2lbs stewing beef (1 lb is enough too though)

    3 onions, quartered

    1 celery stalk, sliced

    2 cups beef broth

    1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    2 tsp oregano

    1 tbsp salt

    1/2 tsp pepper

    1 tbsp parsley

    2-3 tbsp cornstarch

    2-3 tbsp water

    Directions:

    - brown beef (about 1-2 minutes per side, just enough to sear each side)

    - add to crock pot: beef, carrots, potatoes, onions, celery

    - mix together: beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, parsley. Add to crock pot

    - cook on LOW 9-10 hours

    - dissolve cornstarch in equal amount of water. Stir into stew

    - cook on HIGH 15-20 mins
