  1. LAYERED BEAN SOUP MIX

    - Recipe from MamaKing

    Layer in a 1-qt jar:

    1/2 cup dried black beans

    1/2 cup dried white beans

    1/2 cup green split peas

1/2 cup pink or red beans

    1/2 cup dried pinto beans

    1/2 cup dried lentils

    1/2 cup black-eyed peas

Combine in a small bowl; seal in a bag and put on top of beans in the jar:

    1/4 cup minced onion

    1/4 cup parsley flakes

    1 tsp garlic powder

    1 tsp basil

    6 veg. bouillon cubes, unwrapped

    2 whole bay leaves

    Instruction cards:

    Ingredients:

1 jar of Layered Bean Soup mix

    8 cups water

    optional garnish ingredients:

    chopped tomatoes

    chopped cilantro

    grated mozzerella

    sour cream or plain yogurt

    Directions:

    1. Remove seasoning packet from jar. Place beans in a 5-6 quart pot; add enough water to cover by 1 inch. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat and simmer, covered, 5 mins. Turn off heat & let beans sit, covered for 1 hour; drain.

    2. Add 8 cups water and contents of seasoning packet. Bring to a boil over high heat; cover and reduce heat; simmer 90 mins or until beans are tender.

    3. Remove 1 cup soup to a bowl and mash with a fork. Return mashed beans to pot and simmer, uncovered, 30 mins, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaves.

    Gasnish each serving as desired.

  2. notice how I tried to turn the thread around. follow my lead and everything will be alright.

Why bump it to begin with? Wouldn't letting it drop off the first page be alot more effective then "trying to turn it around" and bringing it back up to everyone's attention?

4 mins after the last post is hardly considered bumping....such a weak complaint.

Luke, I've been thinking of you these days. I doubt that I have much to offer you, but I do hope that your days get easier.

  3. The women's bathroom is horrid.

The bar is always sticky-icky and reeks of jager.

    The bartenders are great.

The layout is awkward...however, if you wanna see the band, you gotta stand...which inevitably results in dance which is good for the crowd and good for the band.

  4. oh...and one more thing...."Shitty Poopers"

When you have to pooh, why pick the middle of 3 stalls to drop your load? First of all, I can't understand why you would risk someone having to be 3 feet away from you whilst shitting. But if that doesn't bother you, at least think of the person that only needs to pee....for the love of god! You're shit stinks. And the last thing I need while pinching my nose and wiping tears from my eyes is to feel close to you...close enough to hear the squish. And if you grunt, I respond with "uh!"

  5. 1. Disrespect/abuse of animals - someone in our neighbourhood leaves their dog out for much too long on cold nights. That poor dog barks and howls endlessly...his/her paws must be frozen. I was getting my boots and coat on one night in prep for driving around to find the house, when they finally let him inside. stupid fuckwads.

    2. Serious info via email. My aunt seems to think that sending emails to inform the family of illnesses, accidents, deaths, etc. are A-OK! When I hit Send/Receive and I see one come in from her, I wince.

  6. My grandmother had 2 sets of twins:

    1. Karen & Karl

    2. Floyd & Lloyd

Floyd married Yvonne, who has a twin sister named Yvette.

Floyd & Yvonne have a daughter named Pebbles.

My brother had a dog name Bam-Bam

Booche wants to name our first-born Bacon.

I want to name our first born Jack Bauer (sex of baby non-relevant).

  7. ^^^ did I write that? ^^^

I have lists everywhere all the time. In my wallet, on the fridge, at work, etc, etc, etc. The To-Do lists get separated into quick to-do's, to-do's that take longer, and to-do's that are ongoing.

I also add things to lists that have already been done. Checkmarks make me feel good. One of the worst things I ever had on a list was "Organize To-Do Lists." Yikes.
