Tis true.... JSB at the Schertzo... must be nice to live in Kingston??
-
Last night I confirmed that Spearhead will be headlining the "Flaps off the Dark Side of the Moon" festival in the Ottawa Valley from August 23-25. Also confirmed that the Freeway band will be re-uniting for this festival.
Nugget Productions is now charged with filling out the rest of the Jamband stage bookings. This stage runs from 6pm to 4am. This is on the same weekend as Evlove, and all for charity so it will be interesting to see who wants to play. Hopefully, the lure of Spearhead and a festival of 2000-3000 people will be enough to get some decent talent lined up.
So.... what non Eviolve bands would you like to see?

Hey everyone....
There are still 2 seats on the Kingston Tuba train available. departure time 7 ish anyone who wants to go, let me know.
On Saturday, I need someone to help me work the door for a couple of hours. I have help arriving late, so you will only miss part of GTB. In exchange you get in free.

I never complained about previouse appearances...... because I didn't care and never bothered to watch.
Granted, TV is never the best medium to judge a band, I will save it for the CZ after the show. I am sure I will only have good things to say by then.... but come on, that shit they played last night was hardly worth coming home early to watch. That is ok, because the band I saw last night was awfull and I wanted to leave anyway. It isin't like I thought they sucked, there were nice moments, but it is all relative to MOE.
soon you will understand Booche...... as may I

ya......you know me

On the heel of my bitching about last nights terrible show at the Mercury Lounge, I was informed today that there will be no more live music at the Mercury.
An aparent change in the ownership situation has left live music lovers out in the cold (with a number of my bookings)
What a shame to loose such a beautifull room. I put up with A LOT of crap from that bar in an attempt to build something in that perfect location..... bummer, that is a lot of work down the shitter.
Long live DJ's !

So in keeping with today's theme, I have some nasty shit to say.....
I went out to the Mercury Lounge last night. The band that was playing was called Frestyle. Should be called no style!
This was a 7 piece band with a weird arrangment. 1 DJ, 1 guy on drum machine, and 1 guy on hand drum. Between the 3 of them, they couldn't produce one decent beat, GM could kick all 3 of their asses with 1 arm and 1 leg. The rest of the band was a bass player, a Scofield wanabe on guitar, a bad keyboard player and to top it all off, an MC. I have never seen 7 individuals perform in their own space like this before. No one was listening to anyone else and the MC was screaming over whatever groove might have existed.. It was a freaking mess of sound and my ears are still bleeding.
In fairness to the band, there was a new sound guy working who obviously knew nothing about that room, the levels were all wrong and caused me to cringe more than once
Worst show in a long time
I need a good muffin!

They are gonna have to do A LOT better than that if they want to follow MOE.
that was wus rock!

His breath... hahahahahaha, good one GM... fuck we miss you.
This should start a fight.....
Trey vs Jerry
(trey ..... TKO)

Thanks for the heads up, Doug was my contact there. I don't know John, what is he like?
-
do you think Booche can stay up that late? it is a school night
-
A suggestion I have... the colour of the visited links are hard to read off the background, and the font is realy small.
I am old now, perhaps I should get used to squinting
-
I can plan my ass off, it doesen't mean shit, it just helps me sleep.
One thing for sure is that Moe.Down is my summer highlight, everything else is foreplay....
Booche.... you're a horseshoe throwing freak!
-
yeah me to, I realy enjoyed meeting that guy, what a character. Sucks that it is on the same weekend as Evolve..... I was so sure I was going to go to Evolve, but I was pretty sure I was going to CTMF as well..... I don't know what to do, as usual. I am starting to think that by staying local that weekend, Moe.Down becomes much more realistic the following weekend.
I love these type of problems
-
It is on the same weekend as Evolve which will stop me from attending, but I encourage all of you still in town to check out this festival.
The website doesen't mention it, but I was talking to the organizers at the New Deal show and they tell me Spearhead will be theheadliner
4 stages
Psychedelic Trance Stage.... electronica
Bass`is for Change Stage..... punk, reggae, jungle
Jam Band Stage
Blugrass and folk stage

ahhh errr..... Hoood is my car...... he was named well before I met you Treytrer, believe me, had I known, I would have called her something else

JSB @ Schertzo
D&T @ The Shot
are these venues close together?
Is the Shot where we saw BNB last time?
I have some car issues to work out but if we get Hood fixed, we are good to go.
-
The road is a B-I-tch my friend but it's the only road I know
What to do with a passed out Booche, right after the show!
Well ya go go go "
Of course your ride was dependant on Sally's presence, you I could take or leave
I think Grum wanted to come to, and I think Jaybone and Sloth were into it as well. These were all drunken commitments, we shall see who comes along.
-
HEy Booche
I plan on being in both places. I'm not sure how close the 2 venues are, but I will be back and forth if logistics allow for it. Otherwise..... it is all about the tuba
We got a tuba
Cause we got a band
Cause we got a truba in the band

Howler
Just received confirmation from D&T managment. You are free and clear to setup shop for D&T.
Will you be doing Raggamuffin tomorrow?
Nice weather like today probably means you are sunning yourself in the market right now, sweet job sometimes eh?
-
Thank god we in Ottawa don't have to make such a decision..... of course, choices must be made in Ottawa as well.
But I'm struggleing with what to do in Kingston on Friday..... D&T or JSB?..... nice problems to have
