  1. Private campgrounds might be your best bet.
  2. Tues. June 19 Adam Olmstead www.agolmstead.com High Plains Drifter www.highplainsdrifter.ca DAKOTA TAVERN (Ossington & Dundas) 9:30 PM Adam Olmstead’s debut album, A.G.Olmstead, might just make a few waves over on Music Row. Adam’s lyrics and delivery will have 'em swearing he stepped out of the 1940’s, when tunes like these came with a good time guarantee. Impressed with Adam’s songwriting skill, veteran producer Alan O’Bryant also recognized the power in Adam’s vocal performance and enlisted the talent of members of the Grammy-award winning Nashville Bluegrass Band to create an album worthy of this great music. The result is sublime and fully satisfying. A.G.Olmstead captures the essence of the vintage song. Part poet, part country boy, Adam’s writing and vocal styles are reminiscent of old Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams records full of memorable tunes that range from flirty and frolicking ditties to heartfelt crooners. Nestled in the sweet spot between Bluegrass, Old Time and traditional Country Music, this album is extremely appealing from every angle. Adam crafts tunes from personal experience. He left his home in Eastern Canada as a teen, exploring the cities and back roads of North America, his old Kay jumbo bouncing in his arms as he played his way from one town to another, tune upon tune. Now 31, he has become an unassuming, charming man, easy to like, sure to recall your name. He can pick until sun up, never drop a lyric or repeat a song and is the last man standing at your party. He’s an awesome performer who moves everyone who has the good fortune to hear him play. Adam Olmstead’s new album will scratch your Old Time underbelly where it itches most. Take it for a spin and get ready to smile for a while... 3. Hey everybody.... Intorducing the JOHANNAROO Festival, Saturday June 23rd out in Niagara Region. It starts officially at 4:20. Any questions, call Yo 289-241-8420. Come early and stay late. If you make crafts, bring them to display, barter, and sell. Kids are welcome Admission is free, but we have three bands to pay, so I'LL BE COLLECTING DONATIONS, (darn caps lock) and hoping it all balances. With such short notice, I'm hoping the grapevine will help spread the word so tell whoever you think will want to know. The directions to my house are easy. take the QEW to the Glendale exit at the foot of the Garden City Skyway. Head inland and turn left at Taylor Rd first light. Follow road up hill and mine is the first driveway on right. Camping is suggested for anyone from out of town. Sunday will be a chill day for chilling and making music and whatnot. Hope to see you there! Peace out, Yo
