  1. They did cancel - but they are still on the website - story goes like this - band gets booked for $XX,XXX and over the summer their value doubled - then didn't want to play for $XX,XXX even with contract & deposit paid - made up some excuse a week ago to drop out for "studio" reasons. a bit dissapointing. ah. the music biz.
  2. My favorites are Billy Breathes, Lawn Boy, Picture of Nectar & Story of the Ghost I guess I will have to give those albums another try.
  3. ouch.. those are some biting words!
  4. maybe we should start a thread about songs that Phish should'nt have written... pretty much anything on round room & undermind is some of their weakest songwriting moments
  5. wow.. good read.. I recently read the Jim Morrion book "Nobody here gets out alive" and although I really thought the book was a bit surface level storytelling - I really enjoyed reading Jim's lifestory. Now to hear a more realistic take on his death - his demise seems to make more sense. I always did believe that if you are an alcoholic for as many years that Jim was - you'd have a pretty unstable and fragile health. But 27 years old is pretty damn young! RIP JIM

  10. REVIEW FROM TRIBE.ca Another fine and funky night! A totally new crowd with lots of new faces but everybody gettin down to the funky sounds. First up was Zirca who layed down some light liquid dnb that got the vibe rollin. He always knows how to play to the crowd. Next up was the High plains drifter all stars: THIS BAND WAS UNBELIEVABLE playing everything from Micheal Jackson to Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings covers. With Andrew Spence and Charlie's incredible dueling sax skills, Jay Clearys Funky guitar licks and Sue's sultry diva voice they rocked the dancefloor and not an ass in the place was still. Chu then came on for an abbreviated set but managed to drop a few of his new staples including a dave mathews booty that will be sought after by the masses. GREAT STUFF CHU! JonH from Fort Knox five has an unbelievable stash of tunes that are sooooo refreshing to hear and so different from your normal breaks fare. Belting out everything from amy winehouse to mamas and the papas remixes, bob marley, jurrassic 5 Jon was all over the place but seamless in his mixing and fun and funky on the cuts. As always Fort Knox Five delivered! Closing out Linsee popped off a set of funky disco house that grooved all the way to close. Overall a fantastic night! We can't wait to go back to the reverb August 18 with DJ love and the Elastocitizens. Thats a show you wont want to miss. Details shortly.
