Holy crap Bob. I wish you were with me, even if I was stuck in the fucking brutal VIP section. Great show. Some amazingly good new songs and lots of anthems from the Z LP. I thought nothing could beat "Lay Low", but "Dondonte" and "One Big Holiday" really pushed the show up a couple of extra notches. Even The Sloth was grooving.

I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I'll be there around 7:15-7:30. I think the 8:15 doors is correct since another friend of mine phoned the church, but I hate that little bit of doubt that got planted by my other friend. Let's hope she is wrong.

My friend got a personal email from the dude and he added the end part which I cut and pasted. I'll be there early and side with being paranoid rather than cruise in like a hippy at 8:16.

My friend is on a special list and the rep for musebox just emailed her and wrote the following: Unless otherwise noted, doors will open at 6:45pm SHARP. Tickets will be under your name at the door. Nobody will be admitted that is not on the exclusive, approved RSVP list. There is NO admittance after 8pm.

Doors are at 6:45 sharp and no admittance after 8:00.

I'm having my big 40th birthday bash tonight at the Bedford Academy starting at 8:00. The lights will be turned off for an hour along with whatever else they allow us to shut-down. I have a portable stereo with batteries and a pretty decent hour-long mixed CD and lots of candles. Should be interesing.

Since it is a TV show (with perhaps an interview or two), they may not allow phones in case of rings during the performance etc...

Well, I saw Glen Hansard from the movie Once (and the band The Frames) do a solo acoustic version of Into The Mystic that was fucking cool. It is touchable when he does it.

And yet the duo still calling themselves The Who are still banned from staying in some hotel chains... even with culprit Keith Moon dead since 1978.

The party is gearing up. It's going to be huge. Over 60 people are confirmed.

I went to see Crazy Strings after the Raptors game on Wednesday. They are a different band, at least they were on Wednesday. Andrew Collins (mandolin wiz and vocalist) and Marc Roy (evil young guitar master) weren't in the main band. Roy came on late in the second set and played mandolin (quite well... I hate him). And they have a $3 cover charge. The band seems now to be just a 4-piece (guitar, fiddle, banjo and upright bass) with some special guests added throughout the night like Roy and Collins (he wasn't there although I left before their last set). And I'd delighted to report Cosmic Steve was there, looking no worse for the wear.

So Bob, if I bring that moe. shirt that's been gathering dust for 5 years or more, I wouldn't recommend throwing it on over your Phish '97 tour shirt.
