  1. I hope Dave comes back to his old form. He has a tough road to climb, but it sounds like he's getting better. I know it's an often used and abused statement (and often false), but Dave Davies is one of the most underrated musicians in rock history and The Kinks were and are always underrated.
  2. I'll try to put our names on the guest list, just to be smart.

And if they aren't septic system friendly, then they ain't human system friendly either.
  4. I love the Silver Dollar, but they can shut the Zone and The Waverly Hotel down for all I care. The area would clean-up considerably.
  5. Pete Quaife is not in good health; certainly not in heavy touring health. He's on kidney dialysis.
  6. BTW, Ray Davies will be performing at The Danforth Music Hall in Toronto on April 3rd. It's not sold-out as of yesterday. I think I'll be going. http://www.themusichall.ca/
  7. I think it's going to be The Tea Party.
  8. Ok Mike, I've had enough. I think only you doesn't know I was being sarcastic.
  9. James Blood Ulmer - I'd personally see him over anyone on that list this side of Stevie. He's a fucking avant-garde guitar legend who now is a bonafide bluesman. His blues albums with Vernon Reid are killer. Here's his myspace page (my pimping complete for now): http://www.myspace.com/jamesbloodulmer
  10. Mike, Godzilla is a masterpiece. I love American jingoism and films like The Patriot and Independence Day captured it perfectly.
  11. I found Peter Howell's recent Toronto Star review of the film in question to be particularly hilarious: http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/Movies/article/310299
  12. Stajan looked really good tonight (at least from what I saw inbetween March Madness games).
  13. I'm shocked to hear this is a bad film. Director Roland Emmerich has done great work in the past: Godzilla, Independence Day, Trade, Moon 44, The Day After Tomorrow, The 13th Floor, Eight Legged Freaks, Universal Soldier and The Patriot.
  14. I do love them too. As I approach age 40 (on March 26th), MMJ have crept-up my list of favourite all-time bands, although I doubt they'll ever unseat my old standards: The Who, The Allmans, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Beatles, Television, Coltrane, Muddy Waters, Grateful Dead and Zappa (and a couple of others).
  15. I bet Franz Ferdinand would be almost not shitty in a church, so imagine how great the Jacket will be!
  16. MMJ in a church? Sounds like a great concert to me. So does all the other bands listed, especially Yo La Tengo. Although MMJ aren't my favourite band by any means, they put on killer shows, especially when booked in clubs or halls. I don't know what the vibe is like at the Langerado fest, but I wouldn't say the most "ideal" vehicle to see any band would be at a festival. I've seen quite a few otherwise good to great bands for the first time on big multi-bills and was often disappointed.
  17. Well, if Stewart doesn't make the club, he'll have to be traded because he'll have to clear waivers if they try to send him down. I think they'll keep him around. It's not as if Johnson has proven to anyone that he's back to 100% mentally abd phyically.
  18. If this is a first-time MMJ show for anyone that gets in, you won't know what hit you... guaranteed.
  19. A Toronto woman I know from the MMJ website contacted me and put my name on the guest list. Vicki and I are going. I can't wait, and good luck Bob!
  20. I've never been to the Berekley before and didn't realize it's in the Cabbagetown area. Hell, I can walk there. Great!!! Drinks at Betty's beforehand?
  21. Try it anyway. You have nothing to lose.
  22. Here you go with the email link to MMJ: rsvp3-31@themusebox.net
  23. The line-up looks really good. Getting The Jacket is a coup.
