This whole mess started when I asked you and Booche what you didn't like about the STADIUM. You both listed a bunch of items that any reasonable person would assume would be fixed as part of the renovations done to the STADIUM. I expressed that opinion to which you replied: "Ooooo wow, new coat of paint on a piece of sh!t stadium. " To which I accused you of making an unfair criticism. None of my comments so far today had anything to do with the rest of the development plan. Nor did it have anything to do with the relative merits of building a new stadium vs. renovation. I just asked you not to characterize the renovation to the STADIUM as mere window dressing. Then you re-posted your post from yesterday and I got snarky.

I was responding to your "slap some paint" on it comment. I get that you'd prefer it be rebuilt. That doesn't lead to your conclusion that renovation is akin to a paint job. I'm just asking you to be a little more fair in your criticism.

What's ludicrous is your insistence that Landsdowne Park will still be a piece of crap after $113M worth of renovations.

Won't Minto be doing the "heavy lifting" though? I also don't think Jeff Hunt is going to allow anyone to half-ass it on the stadium.

What leads you to believe that they aren't going to address these issues and are instead just going to slap some paint on it? I just think that's a ludicrous conclusion to come to.

That would be my assumption as well. I liked that march of death up to the top of the south side stands though. There's nothing quite like it.

Apart from the fact that it's all old and crumbly and assuming they'll fix that part... what don't you like about the Stadium? I think the view of Ottawa from the South Side as the sun sets is one of the best in the city.
