  1. alright people, i need a list of cds to hunt for in the local bargain/used cd stores. Im currently wanting to check out some more jazz/funk type music (although the jazz selection at these places is pretty sparse). Im really into checking out any type of tunes so gimme some suggestions!! Picked up Karl Denson's new disc, Panic's "Don't tell the band" double album, and Harper's "burn to shine" for 25 bucks. im looking for things a little more interesting than those.....lets have it!!

  2. Well, saw Nero in Canmore last night. Holy crap people, i thought the show was totally raging. I saw them open for recipe earlier in the month and had a good time. However, this Canmore show totally dwarfed it. Two sets of full on Nero was a very very pleasing thing to behold.

Just to give a little background info, Canmore is a small town about 3 km from banff national park on the west side and a few km from Kananaskis country on the east. its a place where party hungry kids, motorhome-driving old dudes, and old school townies rub shoulders together. I met so many people from out east i felt as though i was the only albertan in the whole joint:)

at the start of the first set i counted about 30 people in the general stage area. the band played hard the entire set, setting the mood for people to groove a little and familiarize themselves with the Nero groove.

by the time setbreak ended, the whole place was packed. I can't say for sure that everyone was there for the band, especially the two kids sitting next to me who continued to break every bottle, glass and ashtray that was served to them.....anyhow, i heard MANY people in the crowd comment on how great the band was. Canmore is a great place for any of these eastern bands to play. the majority of the people there were very pleased with what they heard.

I think its gonna be a full on party everytime Nero comes back to play out here!!!

thats all ive got. hope it makes sense!! im sure there will be a nerolog to follow.... im a zombie today. good times, good times.

    thanks Nero dudes.

  3. well, you CAN certainly burn fat with the new phil [smile]

as for the PILL, they have this stuff out now called hydroxycut. don't know if that was the stuff but...this hydroxycut "stuff" forms around a cell and keeps fat from being absorbed, so to speak. what ensues, so im told, are greasy, fatty turds [Razz]

id stick with the more scientifically proven PHIL method .

  4. Yup, i used to be a huge fan too [smile] Though, I gave my whole collection of discs, garage through the black album to my best bud, who had all of his stolen.

I don't know which album I liked the best. Justice was pretty killer. I remember the cops coming to my house one summer afternoon after multiple complaints from neighbors....we hung both of my speakers out of my second floor bedroom window and turned up the volume as loud as it would go. we then took turns riding our bikes down the street to see how far the "goodness" could be heard:) It could be heard up and down the street....

That Burton base solo was pretty amazing too.

  5. Right on, Ill be watching for the next issue, thanks Mark.

Yeah, if you put it online for viewing/download you could have two files; odd pages in in the first, which get printed off, then even pages in the second that could be printed onto the back pages of the odd ones....

  6. Hey Mark, just wondering if it was a possibility for the rag to have a web version? don't know how its put together for print but I thought it might be doable, no? maybe a .pdf version or something? just throwing out an idea/question or two. Would be cool if there was a .pdf version that users could download and print on their own.

  7. There are also a good number of farms to camp at in the area....though, you may have to set up camp and then drive to the venue. If my memory serves me, there are a few farms that allow camping that are right near the main gates to get into the lots. bit of a hike (i think?) to get to the venue but its fun. The earlier you get there the better spot you'll get..some of them are shabby at best.

  8. Saw these guys in Seattle on Sunday and must confess that it was an all out rock 'n roll concert. Pretty much in your face for two or three hours. Funky crowd too! bikers, hippies, old, young. show was at the Moore Theater and I believe the capacity was around 1200.

To be honest i hadn't heard that much Mule. Well, they get my "OFFICIAL" stamp of approval. Although this was the last show of the spring tour, check em out in the summer. Really great band.

Line up during spring: Warren Haynes, Rob Barraco (formerly of Zen Tricksters and now part of Phil and buds), Danny Louis (Joe Cocker, Tracy Chapman), Dave Schools (Widespread Panic), Matt Abts

    Got Mule?
