  1. When I bought my Nero Cd last Mr. Velvet gave me a phishsanctuary.com post card as well...pretty slick!! thats a hell of an idea. Who designed it for you? and would he or she be willing to design something similar for me (ctree.org)?

Id love to get some of the phish skank cards to hand out at shows and would also like to have some ctree.org ones as well. Got any leads for me??

  2. .........Nero! smile.gif" border="0 yup, first time i was able to attend a show and I can't wait until i can see another...preferably on a friday and/or saturday night. those days tend to let us working folks enjoy drinking mass quantities of our favorite malted pop.

Well, im not much on reviews but ill try and paint a fuzzy picture:

Just so ya know, we probably have a foot and a half of snow here in Calgary, all of which was aquired in the last 24-36 hours. This, unfortunately, seemed to be a bit of a deterent for the kids to be out in full force. Usually, as i was told by the waitress, "the kids pack the place even in -30 weather. you know, they're like groupies and stuff...come out every Monday to see the band..." (The band being Recipe From a Small Planet). on this night the bar seemed to be fairly quiet. I noticed that most of the "regular" folks that Ive seen at the Recipe shows and BNB shows were out but the place had around 50 people in total, max.

Nero took the stage around 10:45. Having heard some of the live recordings I was familiar with almost all of the tunes the band went through, however I am unfamiliar with the titles. also, having no previous precedent from which to draw from, i don't know if this was an on or an off night for the band personally...all i know, it was fun as hell!!! smile.gif" border="0 in my mind (which, at times, can be in a haze of Guinness pints) I thought they played well.

all of the ottawa "groupies" wink.gif" border="0 should be happy to know that your favorite homegrown band is playing well, and don't show any visible signs of travel, YET smile.gif" border="0

    Thats all I have.

Nero dooods, nice meeting you all and i can't wait to toss back some pints and do it up right!! have fun out west. see ya'll at the Hotel.

  3. Jaybone, some buddies and I caught the PLQ in Bozeman on April 2nd. Im not sure how far back the rumors about Widespread Panic go but we heard a rumor at the Phil show that Panic was going to be no longer....just tossing a log on the rumor fire i guess.

As for the whole drug thing, I think its such a FARSE that they are in there bustin kids for a couple of rockets. Thats all I have to say about that.

  4. lightly toasted is fine by me.

In case anyone was wondering about the knife in the toaster thing.........yeah, it hurts. If you ever get some bread or something stuck in the toaster, be sure to unplug the thing before you go fishing with a knife. Ive done it dozens of times without unplugging...BUT one time the knife went through the bread and jammed up against one of the coils.....ZZAP! It sucks.

  5. Guinness, HANDS DOWN. The runner up would most likely be Hophead Beer (brewed by Tree Brewing company...err, was brewed by them anyhow). I only got to drink the stuff for a few months before they stopped shipping it to Alberta. Anyone in BC drink this stuff????

    honorable mentions go to:

Sammy Smith Nut Brown, and Oatmeal Stout beers

Best name award would go to Moose Drool beer, brewed in Bozeman Montana (tasted good too).

  6. I never saw the post pertaining to this matter. If I would have seen it, I would have recomended the name "Larry". don't ask me why, I just think Larry is funny name for a dog.

  7. fun thread...

first car was an 85 buick century wagon..wood panels and all. drove the phatty wagon into the ground..

bought an 84 buick skylark for 200 off of a family friend. 3 days later it got smacked by a construction truck and put a nice big dent in the side.."collect $500 dollars for passing go (insurance) and go straight to jail (not really)". so yeah, i collected insurance money and got PAID to take this car. The brakes were so tight on this thing that id go speeding down streets as fast as i could and then stand on the brakes, sending me screetching and spinning through 4 way stops. i can still see the looks from other drivers....

    current car, 90 Saab Turbo.

Id really like to own a toyota truck. im convinced that these things are the way to go for driving in the bush. last forever....

  8. yup, shrooms here too. creamed spinach is pretty friggin gross too. also, brussells sprouts.

a guy in the produce section once said to me:

"brussells sprouts..who the hell would wanna eat those!? I mean, you wouldn't eat dog shit right?"

I guess dude didn't like the sprouts either...
