Seems to me you used to get off when the cop didn't show up, but now I think you are supposed to enter your plea upon arrival with the person who seems to be the court-appointed prosecutor (or something). So, what's worked for me in the past is choosing the "Not Guilty" plea on the ticket, then when your court date comes (personally I've started to try to make a point of remembering what my cop looks like and even making note of his description, or driving around the court parking lot day of trial to see if there are any cars from that division at the courthouse before I go in) if your cop isn't there when the judge asks your plea, say "Not Guilty" and you're off. Otherwise, if you see your cop there, check in with the court person and change your plea to "Guilty to a Lesser Speed" and often the fine will be reduced and they will let you plead guilty to a speed that doesn't involve point loss. That's what I do...hope it helps for you BTW, I've been driving for about 25 years and have about as many speeding offences to match.

Well, I finally managed to get 2 Floors for London, after much hassle. First, through New Era Ticketing, they told me they had no Floors at 10:00:30am. I found that really hard to believe, so I went online. Nothing at TM (kinda nice, though my account's all set up and everything with them), and on the JLC site, I managed after several tries to score some Floors, only for my time to run out with my archaic dinosaur computer taking several minutes to load each page. Then, after finally getting a couple more, twice the system spat me out with a message about "ticket is 0.00, not 0.00", then finally expiring, then no more Floors on the site. After much persistence, I finally got me a live body over the phone who was holding back a few (which were to be released momentarily) and I think (and pray) that I actually got some Floors...wow, what a waste of an hour.

I'm on inter.net, which I think is a subsidiary of istar. I pay $15.95 + tax ($17.07) for 60 hours I think. I've been with them since sometime in 2000 I think, and they've just been billing my credit card each month since then. I ended up with them one night back in 2000 when my previous server up and disappeared without a trace. They had my credit card info and address, etc., but I had no way of finding them (all their phone lines had been disconnected). At the time, I was doing a lot of business online and receiving ad proofs and immigration documentation, and I couldn't afford to have my server disappear without notice. I did hear from them a week or so later, and they'd been purchased or merged with another company, but by that time I was already established with inter.net. Don't know if it's standard, but they have 24-hour tech support too, and I'm unsure what their line to customer ratio is, but at the time it seemed pretty good, and I've never had a problem getting connected. If the number hasn't changed, I used to call 1-888-464-7827 for support. Hope the info helps, but I think there may be way cheaper ones out there now.

Figured you were there Timmy, I was kinda looking out for you. We were up in the first balcony row C just a bit to the left. What a stellar show eh? As expected, the precision and timing were mind-blowing. I was told by MH BO that the show was going to end at 10:30, and though that seemed like it would've been long for someone like Donald Fagen, I was a bit disappointed when it ended just after 10pm (only 'cuz I had my hopes up for more Steely Dan tunes). I'm totally inspired to pick up the new album though by the sounds of the new songs that were played...as complex and rhythmic as ever. By the way, did you know any of those players. I thought Freddy Washington sounded really familiar and I tried looking them up on allmusic, but wasn't getting much of anything. And thanks for the setlist - I was hoping one would be forthcoming. See ya at Gilmour!

And thereby another cause for celebration!!! Happy birthday Darius, little guy
-
Any excuse for a party, eh buddy?!? Well, congrats (now let's just see if it helps you get a real job)!

Hey Tigger - ya better watch out, I think you're catching up to me Hope you had a birthday blast - I so wanted to be there, but the cosmos had other plans for me. See ya soon & keep bouncin'!!

Perhaps this has already been posted, but this is from my most recent Western New York Concert Update Newsletter -

On Sale Now!
Not so much into Dave Matthews, but he has some pretty cool friends (as we all know). Does anyone know anything more about this? Is it an all day event? "Secret Location" - is it like a rave or something?

TimmyB, I can't believe you're passing on this show. You know, as well as me, that at least these guys always give you your money's worth, compared to the shows that only last 75 minutes. If you love the music, the Mule fill your cup and then some. They just keep givin' it up. I can't think of a better spent $40...well I guess if I didn't have food for a week it'd be different...but as far as good live music goes, these guys are the real deal. As for the promoters' making lots of money, for many years now, the Mule have insisted on the promoters paying for them to bring their own production (probably partly due to their Comfort Zone experience and the club owner trying to refuse to get the needed additional tech rider requirements), which brings the cost up quite a lot to buy the show. I'd imagine that the break-even number for the show tonight is well over 1,000 people, and I'll bet it'll be some of the happiest 1,000 people I've seen in a long time Oh yeah, I'll be there...woohoo!!!

At Trey on November 10th, they only sold beer until showtime (that is when Trey started). I have no idea whether they were selling during Tea Leaf Green because we only got there just prior to Trey going on. They wouldn't let us take beers into the theatre either unfortunately. Been there prior to this, but can't remember anything. And if you're thinking of taking your own, all I can say is that the search at the door was nowhere near as intense as the State Theater in Detroit. In fact, I think they only made me open my purse and looked in the top. Good luck!

Is there a discount for someone who shows up late with a Trey ticket stub in hand? And what time are they going on and ending?

Did anyone grab the new album? I have the first three, but was unimpressed with the new sound on Polaris. Was wondering whether the new album is back to the roots or a continuation of the new experimental sound on Polaris. Also wondering whether the (I think) new tune prior to Cody's washboard solo is on the new album. I ran out of money to get it, but I may have to pick it up one of these days.
-
Exactly, he's doing the very cool Rattlesnake Shake, the song he claims on a live commercially-released Boston show is about Mick Fleetwood's very long celibate period.
-
In for Trey, but no Leafs game. Good to hear words of praise for Trey, 'cause I have no idea what he's doing now or who's touring with him.
-
So there's several Project Z albums floating around out there with new owners eh? Part of me wishes the recipient really turned on to the sounds, but the other part of me knows the CD found its way to the nearest dumpster (since it was stolen along with my CD player).
As for the new album, I have no idea either, sorry.
-
Wish I was on this one quicker - I saw some of this compilation at a video night I was at, specifically the stellar Peter Green footage, and it was all top quality and very cool. I really like Hugh Hefner too, and admire him for the reality that he's made his life, and his cutting-edge ideas. Now there's a cat who should live forever.

I was gonna speculate that maybe Warren would be at the Buffalo show since Mule are in the area, but it looks as though they're on to Cincinnati by December 3rd...oh well.
As for Jimmy, I heard rumours quite some time ago of Jimmy joining Panic...anyone else hear similar? And Esau, do you have the first Project Z album? It's amazing (and I used to have an extra copy, but it got stolen).
In as much as I'm curious who will be playing guitar, I'm even more curious how Chris Robinson will sound with Phil. I like Chris as a frontman and vocalist, but his style just seems so different from the music Phil usually makes. But I have faith that Phil wouldn't tour this configuration if it wasn't of highest calibre.

In (actually took a vacation night for it), and Trey the next night in Buffalo, then Soulive two nights later - good weekend for shows, that's for sure
-
Isn't Bokomaru Frank Marino's brother's band or some relation of sorts?
And, out of curiousity, is everyone dressing up for Halloween, or was that just Saturday night?

DTB played the Canal Concert Series in Buffalo back in June, the night prior to the Mule's free show at the Artvoice Festival, and they're playing Buffalo again in January 2006, as follows -
The Derek Trucks Band
Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 8pm
Center for the Arts
Returning by popular demand!
The Derek Trucks Band blends jazz, rock, blues, soul, Latin, Eastern Indian, and other world music. Slide guitar virtuoso Derek Trucks divides his time between his own group and the Allman Brothers Band. Derek has been ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."
Also from the DTB Newsletter FYI -
The DTB has finished a new album!! The album was recorded in Nashville over
the summer and will be released in early February of next year. This is
truly a "band" record with no guest musicians except longtime DTB
collaborator Count M'Butu on percussion. The band really pushed the envelope
on this recording and everyone is eager for the fans to give it a listen.
More info soon on pre-sales, release date, etc!!
And tonight they're at -
10/16 Amsterdam, The Netherlands  The Paradiso
Hope that helps...and hope you get to see them soon (if you haven't already)
-
Hey Jay - Sure hope to catch up with soon, and hope you had a fantastic day!! Peace & hugs
-
Hey Marky - Any word on Victor Wooten set times tomorrow night? Also, is there an opener? And will there still be tickets at the door? And for how much? Hoping to find out, since I'm supposed to be in to work at midnight, and wondering if the show's do-able prior to work. By the way, is he touring with his brothers this time 'round?
-
Hey Willy - Just saw your message, and I may just have a near perfect solution. I was going to PM you, but can't for the life of me figure out how. Perhaps if you're still looking, email me at kh@ca.inter.net (I'm still working nights though, so later tonight might be the first chance I get to respond).

And, seeing the official setlist afterward, there was supposed to have been a Slow Happy Boys after Drums prior to Banks, but it never got played (and there was enough time)...hmm, wonder why...I absolutely love that song! Oh well, regardless, it was a fantastic show, great song selection, nice and long, and the boys were on fire! Super sweet, and just the kick in the ass I needed...it's been far too long since my last fix! And great hanging with you Timmy and Afro (glad to meet you, though I knew your 'fro even before the introduction). Wish I had've bumped into you too Bri - hope you enjoyed it as much as me
