bouche
I've heard of that, kinda. When I was unemployed, I was advised to call MC and inform them to see if I could lower my interest rate and/or monthly payments. The lady pretty much laughed. paisley
when asking for credit, whether from a credit card company or Ma Bell, you're ALWAYS employed otherwise you get the laugh (and the shaft)
AdamH
I was recently denied a VISA card from Citizen's Bank because I didn't have enough debt! When I called they said that although I had a card with a $5000 limit (and a zero balance) as well as a PC Mastercard (which I don't use) I would have to maintain some kind of balance for them to consider me. It's hard to believe. In the end they gave it to me though, and it supports some great organizations: http://www.citizensbank.ca/Personal/Banking/CreditCards
bONES
It's hard to believe. why? credit card companies don't make money off of people who do not keep a balance. where would the interest come in on a balance of nothing?! i called M/C to renew my Bank of Montreal card today and Camilla did not want to re-issue me a new card because of my current employment status (happily chilling :...so after i told her they could shove their card you know where i was told i'll have my new one in 3 to 5 business days.
