Large Marge Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 The Good Brothers I didn't notice them in the movie, but apparently they were on the Festival Express. My friend Carolyn knows and has played with them (bluegrass)... I'm hoping to work an introduction the next time they're in town.
Super Freak Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 From what I can remember, they played a lot of fairs etc in the eighties...country I think...but were really popular at one time. Not sure if I'm thinking the right band though.
zero Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 I don't know if they're Travis and Dallas Good's (Sadies, The Unintended) father or uncle but they are a close relation.
traveler Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 There twin brothers.Jerry played with them when the good brothers opened for the Dead.Excellent songs:Hot Knife Boogie-my favorite.Check them out.Yes they are the Sadie's daddys. Then theres Bob he thinks he's hip got to close and burn't his lip-Good Bros.
Palms Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 Father and Uncle of the Goods in the Sadies. They apparently taught The Dead some of the country songs Bobby sings (Big River, etc) on the Festival Express tour. Bruce Good and family lived on Bobby's ranch in California during the 70s for some time, they recorded some albums while living out there.
doug Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 The Good Brothers are still together and playing occasional shows. If you get the chance you should definitely go check them out.
Thorgnor Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 I used to work with a guy named Howie that played drums for the Good Bros. He was crazy.
