Esau Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 So thats you who slowed down the torrent eh Booche... Seriously,I'm doin ok here between 60-75,not to bad. Do you know anything about Zone Alarm security suite? I have configured xp pro for BT but am not sure about ZA and if I can configure it to get faster downloads or not.
Booche Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 "Do you know anything about Zone Alarm security suite?" Nothing aside from headaches.
Esau Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 My ZA is fine actually,it works great,I have 144+ years (52,895 days) of free service updates (don't ask)
meggo Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 i still can't figure out this sh!t. i downloaded the slip show which was a flac file no prob. this i press download and it all just goes to fu©k. what gives?
paisley Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 you left clicked "bnb2004-07-09.shnf.torrent (click to download)" on the http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=6692 page? working fine over here, just hopped on (thanks by the way SG)
meggo Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 ok. i left click, it d/l in like 9 seconds then tries to play, and says it can't support the format. bah.
paisley Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 and you have BitTorrent installed? usually instead of saying it doesn't support the format thats when BitTorrent would ask you where you want to download the file to
Esau Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 It should take a bit longer then 9 seconds to download meggo,I've been on this for abouit an hour and am at 30.2%. When you click the link that says "(click to download)" does a window pop up asking you where you want to put the file on your computer?
meggo Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 hummmmmm i do have bit torrent... i did... maybe i deleted it in a fit of rage. i dunno. thanks for trying to help my poor technologically handicapped ass anyway, pais. ...and esau. i knew it was downloading way too fast. still getting the hang of this. whatevs.
paisley Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 maybe try re-installing it just to be sure then try again, should work here's the main BitTorrent page Esau may have a link to a better version, I just use the basic one above right now
meggo Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 you're a doll. thanks P. gotta get my burtie fix
Esau Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Just attempting to help meggo,no offence meant.Make sure you unistall it completely before using a different client,it can cause some problems if you didn't uninstall correctly.
meggo Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Just attempting to help meggo,no offence meant. wanna fight? jeebus, esau!!! of course i know you didn't. i was just frustrated and half drunk. and still i can't get this @#$%^& thing to download, even tho i re-downloaded bit torrent. shitballs!
paisley Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 shitballs!! lol... on the bright side once you get to Ottawa you'll be up to your elbows in computer geeks eager to show off their fancy computing skills :: out of curiosity after you downloaded bittorrent did you install it? if so, you got me... ghosts in the machine maybe (or an incomplete un-install previously as Esau suggested) I always just click the file, a few second download starts, then a window opens that asks me where I want to put the file, I point to a folder and click and it starts downloading (so long as someone out there has the file open to share)
meggo Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 i think i did... it says it's installed, and i checked my c drive list programs and only saw the one in there... who knows!!! maybe i'm just crazy.
paisley Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 well if you downloaded it, double clicked the downloaded file and followed the instructions it should be installed if such is the case, I just dunno ::
