meggo
hahahahahah... i just got some dvd's from rogers... [crazy life i live during the week...] the bag says that, among other things, it will protect my video from "wookie dander." gross!

purple foot
what is wookie dander? and what movies did you get? i rented the delicate art of parking and it sucked big time.
meggo
really? i had a ponder over that one... i rented 'the ladykillers' [just watched it, some funny bits, i love gospel music] and 'love liza', going to watch it later, haven't heard anything about it but it's got philip seymour hoffman and i love that guy so it's probably good. it did win an award at the sundance film festival for screenwriting. i'll let ya know! and as for the wookie dander... ick... it doesn't sound good. Fendermender
I liked "Ladykillers", mostly for the soundtrack. "Wookie dander" must relate to Chewbacca, the walking carpet of Star Wars fame. Google it...
meggo
picture! edit to add: i loved the soundtrack too!! i want to find that. love the heady gospel
Tonberry
Pity meggo, you coulda borrowed LL from me. It's a REALLY good flick, but ultra depressing. PSH is my favourite actor ever. This is my favourite movie that he stars in. Owning Mahowney was all right, but, for me, this film just had a much deeper impact.
meggo
ultra-depressing??? i guess as soon as i read "so-and-so's life begins to unravel after his wife's unexpected suicide." i shoulda been tipped off. hmmm... i think i can handle it today. i guess i've just always seen him do funny parts!! we shall see. Ms.Huxtable
I liked "Ladykillers", mostly for the soundtrack. I agree. The Coen brothers are one of my (two of my?)favorite Directors if only for the soundtracks. Lady Killers was great. As always, the Coens have created amazing characters and great music over a simple yet enthralling plot. And DAMN I really was interested in The Art of Parking. ::

purple foot
The art of parking try's to be funny but it just wasn't. They set it up as a documentary but everyone is clearly acting, badly. crackhead is doing is CA so he is studying lots. plus he has to get up before 8 so thats just killing him.
